He's the best ever in my book....just an extraordinary career. The track record of consistently dominant teams over the years has few if any equals

Bill... don't get too excited. That ranking has the Aggies as #9 and we don't even have a QB yet.
Recruiting classes are great, but I'd sure take some experience behind the wheel for a few of those stars.

Our recruiting under Mullen was pretty bad so us Gators feel pretty good about what is going on this year. One thing I am really happy about is that we are recruiting better in our home state of Florida. So far 14 of our 16 recruits are from Florida.

I sure agree with this BT. Saban is one of a kind.

Ohio State is doing very well right now also, and in recent years.

The program is in a good place and I think they've found a really good and very young coach in Day and I hope and pray his career in Columbus is only just beginning tho the lure of the NFL for any successful coach is ever present. Every year is a new year and reason for optimism. I think if this team can figure out a way to compete defensively, they will be in the conversation till the end provided of course they don't get steamrolled by the Irish juggernaut in the opener!

I'd be happy with a respectable effort, one that would have people saying of the Irish, they're a very good team. Just couldn't get it done against arguably the best team in the country. :)

It will be a good one for sure. Great atmosphere, home openers are always highly anticipated. Prime time night game, blue blood opponent in gold helmets coached by one of our own will only add. Home town folks out for blood after losing to the TUN for the first time in a generation, gonna be electric. I anticipate a very competitive game....we'll score points, but can we stop anybody?????:confused::confused:

Looking forward to going, but.......really bad news yesterday is that my posse set to attend the game has completely fallen apart. Ugh.....our host for the weekend has suddenly deemed himself too old for night games! He was the youngest one of the group....kids getting soft these days!

It's a trap, T. :( Bucks better be 100% ready and motivated. Better not be reading their clippings.

I hear ya....these kids haven't won anything yet. They're gonna need to bring their big boy pads. It's pretty much guaranteed Coach Freeman is gonna have his team jacked for his homecoming in prime time under the lights. Place is gonna be nuts....pretty sure our kids will be ready to play. We'll see. Shaping up to be a massive recruiting weekend

I am reasonably confident with a win here at home this year. Next year may be an entirely different story in South BEnd?

Don, I like this team a lot. I feel confident that they can play at a elite/championship level this year
at every position group but one. If our new DC Coach Knowles can work his magic in the LB room in Columbus as he did in Stillwater, we can play and beat anybody. We just don't have the same caliber of personnel in that room as we have all others. Average talent and an improved scheme may be good enough with that offense but I would surely swap KP a five star WR for one of the 5 star LB they collect down there....I think Will Anderson would be a good candidate???

    Very valid points Terry

Alabama flipped several players we were counting on for next year. They seem to very good at flipping players for obvious reasons.

How odd is the resignation of OU coach Cale Gundy an OU grad, former player and a 22 year member of the coaching staff.

He read something aloud directly off a players iPad, a player who hadn't been paying attention to the meeting going on... I am thinking back to school days when you are caught passing notes in class and asked to read said note.

What could he have read that was written by the player that causes him to resign and his HC to accept the resignation?

In today's world it had to be the "N" word or questioning someone's sexual orientation in not a nice way.

I wonder if the player faces any consequences?

According to Venebles, Gundy read it aloud to the whole group several times. Sounds like there is more to the story than Gundy is indicating.

I saw that statement by Venables. I still wonder about the kid who wrote it on his iPad.

Big 10 media deal is coming to a conclusion.

I wonder if language will be written in the contract to take into account future expansion. If not then future expansion adding say 2 or 4 more teams would just dilute the payout for the existing teams.
