What Day is saying is how good programs used to view Jr College kids. Bring in a kid if you have a hole due to recruiting failure or injury. But that it's not a good way to build and maintain a program unless you are that old guy who used to coach at Kansas State. ;)

At ND we have focused mainly on Grad transfers. We have brought in a few undergrad transfers but not many

On the new NIL NCAA guidelines and their threat to those collectives.

From an article on The Athletic

“The moment they come to try to interfere with one of my clients’ deals — the next day is the moment they get hit with an antitrust lawsuit,” said attorney Mike Caspino, who represents several football recruits that have landed six- and seven-figure deals with school-specific booster collectives. “They’re saying there’s a whole class of people (boosters) who can’t participate in the market for athletes’ NIL rights. That’d be like saying red-haired people can’t buy meat. That’s antitrust.”

Jealousy has never existed once a lower-paid employee finds out how much a well-paid "star" employee makes in comparison...

Hahahaha. "Equality" and "additional value" are equivalent friction-creating mechanisms in the locker room as "six figure" vs. "$0". And we haven't even started to see the lawsuits from women's sports for equality. Well, that's assuming the other discussion hasn't already destroyed women's sports beyond repair.

How would ANY limit to an athlete's income be implemented without a lawsuit? This genie is out, there is no way in hell.

And that challenge is successful, is there then a trickle-up (unintended) consequence to the NFL, where salary caps are now challenged?

How long until coaches / schools start getting sued for "artificially limiting my NIL value for not recognizing me as the face of the franchise, not playing me every down, and not throwing to me whether I'm in quadruple coverage or not"? Is it inconceivable that "student" athletes are now more well paid than the head coach??

    Entirely predictable insanity. Disgusting.

Maybe pimping wasn't the right term, but he did watch it a little before turning on the jets.

I would agree with Sid about most inside the parks. It seems like a lot of them are right handed hitters slicing one into the right field corner and it rattles around so fielder has a hard time getting under control.

ABC has a doubleheader on Sept. 3 to kick off the season. Georgia will face Oregon in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff game in Atlanta at 3:30 p.m. EDT. Besides the Bulldogs opening their national title defense, it marks the first game for Ducks coach Dan Lanning, Georgia’s defensive coordinator for the past two seasons.

New Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman makes his debut on the road against Ohio State at 7:30 p.m. The day will begin with ESPN’s “College GameDay” originating from Columbus, Ohio, for its first on-campus show of the season.

The WR who was leaving Alabama and going to Texas, Agiye Hall, has deleted all Texas stuff from his social media accounts. I can't find anything that indicates what that really means. But it comes at a time when some people think that Pitt WR, Jordan Addison, is seriously considering Texas along with USC. Might come down to the NIL money.

Speaking of Texas, the Alabama/Texas game Sept 10 will be on Fox at 11am. Texas fans are upset. It's crazy to play such a big game at that time and esp in early Sept in Texas.

Yeah, I think it was 2 or 3 yrs ago that Alabama got stuck with 4 or 5 11am games in September and October either at home or elsewhere in the deep south. Brutal. I took my sisters (from out of town) to the game and one of them nearly passed out, and she lives in Houston. We had to leave at halftime.

After dropping passes in last year's NC game, he bad-mouthed Alabama fans on his way out of town. Y'all may dodge a bullet if he goes elsewhere.
