    Well.....

<t>Who isn't? Now I hear they are waiting to see if Marty gets canned in SD.<br/>

One thing I think is certain Dennis Green and Art Shell are done as head coaches at the pro level. And should be !!</t>

I posted a note about this as soon as Alabama hired Saban.

I can't imagine them hiring Shula, they just gave Dom Capers a huge contract to stay as DCoord which means that they will want a guy to come in that has an offensive background and while Shula was the Tampa Bay OCoord under Tony Dungy if you remember those were teams that had a hard time scoring, they won with defense and his Alabama teams were not known for offense either....well except for the whupping they gave the Gators in Tuscalosa that time. :)

But stranger things have happened that's for sure.

I got an email from an old friend (hell all my friends are old) and he had some info on the Saban affair. Apparently Saban's agent made first contact right after the Auburn loss.
One of the big problems that the Tide offense was having was blamed on the OL coach who was on Price's staff. He teaches zone blocking which works just fine with the Spread O run by Price but wasn't very effrective in the pro-style offense Shula prefered. Additionally, Shula's play calling was roundly criticized. There were a number of other interesting pieces of info including the "rats" inside the Tide AD who did everything they could to downplay the Saban feelers. They correctly felt that if he came in, they'd be on the way out.
