Terry, they are allowed to use them at home, but not when the other team is at the line ready for play.. Yeah right, that rule works well...
Classic Alabama, at least since Saban /Kiffin modernized the offense. Slant route with tremendous run after the catch.
kp... that's how you defense the air raid now. Make them go the whole distance till they make a mistake, or the compressed field allows the D to apply some pressure. I hate it, but we held them to 21 pts on a ton of yards. Unfortunately, my offense made too many mistakes to make the 21 hold up. (We gave up an INT in our redzone leading to 3, and a safety which was the margin of victory for them)
Will Rogers clearly in a lot of pain, don't see how he can be effective. Next hit will likely finish him.
Yeah but they are driving down the field. They just can't get it into the endzone. We are having to blitz to get any pressure on the qb. We did have 2 very good ints. It's just not dominating defense like we have had in the past. I mean this is Mississippi State for goodness sake.
As I said kp, the strategy against that damned offense is to rush 3, and drop everyone else most of the time. Flood the passing lanes and eventually you get a pick, or push them behind the sticks to force a punt. You're guys are giving up yards, but no points. That's exactly what the manual says to do. It's excruciating to watch, but it does work.
Additional insult to the Gators, according to Greg McElroy on the Bama broadcast, LSU only had 60 scholarship players for the Florida game.
