This will be the first road game, ever, for Auburn at a Big 10 school since the SEC was founded. Will be a white out at Penn State. Should be rocking in Happy Valley to start the game for sure.

"To start the game" may be the operative words. ;)

Arch Manning will be in Athens for the Georgia/So. Carolina game. He's the most high profile recruit in quite a long time, nobody knows where he will end up. Texas fans think we have a shot because of Sarks work with Mac Jones. I do wonder if since Archie and Eli and his dad are Ole Miss alums will the success of Lane Kiffin at Ole Miss and the style of offense he runs end up being a big factor. I can't imagine that they would be thinking of Tenn even though Payton went there, the program is a hot mess at the moment.

I won't be surprised if he ends up at Alabama. Currently 3 Alabama QB's are starting in the Pros, Tua at Miami, Jalen Hurts at Philly, and Mac Jones at New England. The only thing is that with the turnover at Coord on Saban's staff he won't really know for sure who he'll be playing for when he shows up at Alabama. Bill O'Brien is already being talked about as a hot coach for any openings that come available this year.

If Auburn had played anyone with a pulse, I'd be tempted to take them. But... nah, I'll use my foolish upset picks on a few others.

Yeah this is Auburns first actual game of the year, those other games were glorified scrimmages. Now they be on the road a long way from home and a packed stadium of crazed Penn State fans who no doubt see Auburn/SEC teams as more than just the enemy! It will be a hostile environment big time.

Tidbit.. Alabama has won 31 straight games vs SEC East teams, last win was South Carolina in 2010.

Wild finish for UCF and Louisville. Pick six by the Cardinals nailed the game for them in final seconds. Final score was 42-35.

The secret of consistent winning in the last couple of years has been the "service break". The very good teams are going to score a lot of points no matter who they are playing. Therefore, the first team that can't score on their possession has their chance (service) broken. If the other team scores on the next possession then they hold serve. If a team gets its service broken in consecutive possessions it is in deep trouble. Also, in the case of Alabama, I think we are benefiting from the Tiger Woods effect. That is, our opponents come into the game thinking they have to press to win. They do not stay within their normal game rhythm and they end up making mistakes or not sticking with their strengths. Let's see how Florida does in these two areas today.

Halftime Miami and Michigan State, Michigan State leads 10-7.

Moved over to Oklahoma. and Nebraska and Huskers giving Oklahoma all they can handle. Oklahoma reds 7-3 8 min left in 3rd quarter.

This is a surprise to me, thought Oklahoma would win easily.

Game of the day coming up in an hour and a half, Alabama - Florida. Don't expect my Gators to win but hope springs eternal.

Last nights UCF - Louisville game was exciting. Tied 35-35 late 4th quarter Louisville with the ball near midfield needing only a field goal to win. UCF intercepts and gets the ball near midfield which pretty well puts them in position to win. However the unbelievable happens and Louisville not only gets an interception but runs it back for a td. A pick 6 at that point seems impossible but it happened.

    42-35 Louisville.

    Really exciting game.

Watching Nebraska and Oklahoma right now waiting for Florida - Alabama.

Really did not expect Sparty to travel to Miami and slam the Hurricanes like they did and for the Gophers to stomp Colorado. Maybe no great B10 team but a lot of depth.

I had both MSU and Minnesota in the contest. I do think that the B1G is stronger this year.

I think the score of the OU/NEB game was a big surprise. I thought it was was going to be a long day for the Bug eaters.

Tide starting to pull away from the Gators.

    21 - 3 1st qtr not a good sign for the Gators.

I think the biggest difference between Alabama this year and Alabama last year is the receiving corps. This year's group not nearly as good

In reference to my earlier assessment, Florida has brought it today. They are playing their game and executing well. This will be interesting.
