The Aggies will be young at QB for sure... and I'm ready to see what the King can do. OL will be new, but not necessarily young. The tackles will be AA Kenyon Green, and grad transfer from Tennessee Jahmir Johnson. A good start. The guards will be sophomores if the current set up holds, so that leaves center. Which will either be the last of the Matthews boys, Luke (a JR), or Boy-monster right out of highschool Bryce Foster. That kid is a human oak tree. His legs are ridiculous. That's a very important spot to put a newb, but if he wins it, there's probably a reason. I most interested to see two big time Tight Ends on the field at the same time. Baylor Cupp has made it through camp for the first time after 2 previous seasons got derailed by injury!
Scott, I forget if you said you'd given up your season tickets or were planning on going to games this year?
Hey! Alabama has.a.rookie QB, a rookie rb, only one experienced wr. A lot.of.question marks. Defense should be good though. 1st.games.always scary.
I'll be there this season. Not sure I'll keep them if kids start moving around like free agents chasing the money.
Gophers lead at the half 14-10. Stroud is having some problems over throwing his receivers. We definitely need to play better defense in the second half.
Young Qb on the road first start. But credit to PJ Fleck for the gutsy 4th down call and to Ibrahim for making it work. I'm sure Ryan Day would have preferred a MAC opponent at home to get Stroud off to a good start. That said I'll be surprised if the Gophers pull the upset.
Gophers played Ohio tough and gashed them for 200 yards on the ground but they have no answer for the Buckeyes elite talent on offense.
Our big plays was really the difference in this win. Henderson the freshman RB looks very good. I will take a road victory any day of the week and especially with a conference game. Hopefully the defense will improve with more playing time.
I hear you and I am encouraged by our experience on defense, but the game has changed with the pendulum swinging (temporarily, I think) to the offense and our offense is extremely inexperienced. Alabama may be championship-caliber but I don't think we know that yet based on inexperience. They may be #1 but I'm not sure what that is based on.
What is interesting about this is he just missed the deadline for being able to play elsewhere this year. He was buried on the depth chart and would not have gotten significant playing time this year.
