We may have tossed this subject around before but since in another topic there is some humble pie going around and given what I think just may be Ohio State's worst loss ever in Glendale I thought it topical and perhaps healing for us to list our favorite team's worst or most humbling loss ever: For me......hands down it's Neb over Fla 62-24 in the NC game of 1995 Others interested in this soul search?
From a Gator message board: "A question from a Buckeye about the UF 1995 season... -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As a Buckeye, I have to give all the credit to your team for a well played game and I know you guys have probably had your fill of the Buckeye Nation for a little while, but I was wondering if some of you wouldn't mind answering a question for me. After being completely embarrassed in the NC game, there's a lot of doubt and questions coming from our fan base. It seems like the Buckeye Nation has completely lost it's collective mind and I know you guys experience a similar situation in 1995 with a big loss to Nebraska, so how were things after that loss? Was there a mass panic among your fans? How long did it take before the questioning began to subside? This is sort of unchartered water for us, so any info you would be share would be appreciated. Thanks and congrats to the 2006 BCS National Champion Florida Gators." From MCG: He's right....we should know. Interesting that UF crushed FSU the next year when the title was at stake. 1995 vs. Nebraska created a fire within UF's players and I do believe that the beatdown by the Huskers was not forgotten by this year's UF team either.
The Fiasco was bad. So was the Choak at Doak ..... a non-loss that feels worse than most, if not all, losses.
The Choke at Doak was THE worst tie in the history of college football probably. You're right....that was as bad as any loss but Nebraska in the desert was worse and for far greater stakes.
Nebraska was a painful game to watch. The Tenn loss..with all the disputed penalties etc..was tough to accept. Also..I was in Miami a while back.. whether it was 02 or 03..but we were playing the Canes and must of been up like 33-13 in the second half. Unfortunately Brock Berlin had the second half of his life..and they came back to beat us on a Gore touchdown run. Damm..that was a tough game to swallow.
