UCLA lost the last 4 games they played before the tournament. MSU was beating them by double digits at the half at the play-in game. Unbelievable run to get to the FF.
Really low scoring game. Mick Cronin was very successful at Cincy, I wonder if he's finally going to be that guy who gets UCLA back to being a Blueblood on the level of Kentucky and Duke?
Don holds his lead at 71 points, I'm in 2nd with 69 and Bill is 3rd. If it's a Gonzaga/Baylor final Bill will win. Only way (I think) anybody else can win is if Baylor loses to Houston and Gonzaga wins. Maybe then I can sneak in since I'm already ahead of Bill. I think if both Gonzaga and Baylor lose in the semi's then nobody will score any more points and Don will win.
I think at the time he was hired there was a lot of "Mick at UCLA"? How is that going to work, didn't seem like the UCLA type of guy, seemed like a Cincy type of guy, many were surprised he left Cincy as he grew up their went to HS there his dad was a legendary HS coach there...just seemed like an odd hire. But he's in the Final Four so it was a good hire and we'll see if he builds on this to get UCLA back to dominance of West Coast Baseketball. Lot of great HS basketball played right there within a 100 miles of his campus.
If the first half of the game tonight, it would appear Houston is no match for the hot shooting Baylor Bears. This game could become very lopsided by games end.
No surprise at all. The Bruins are one of the youngest teams and a great coach in the second year of his program. They totally buried Timme tonight and looked like the equal of Gonzaga.
What a shame. Gonzaga wins on a fluke. The kid missed by so much that the ball hit the backboard and banked in. Oh well. We learned one thing...the Bruins are back.
What a dramatic finish, while there have been many big shots to win games in the Final Four, that has to be one of the best ever.
I wonder how many Final Four games have been won on the last shot at the buzzer? We talked about the NC State win over Houston when Lorenzo Charles put back the miss to win at the buzzer. Arike Ogumbawale did it twice for Notre Dame in 2018 to beat UConn and then Miss State to win the title. I seem to remember an IU player named Keith Smart hitting a game winner over Syracuse in the Finals to win the Championship. Christian Laetners shot to beat Kentucky wasn't in the Final Four .
