A huge snow storm here has been going all night. Everything is covered with snow and it's still coming down. The dog refuses to go outside and pee. If he thinks he's going to pee inside where it's warm, he may find himself ejected...

Meanwhile, here on the east coast we have not had measurable snow at the Shore in two and half winters....

Looks like some major snow is heading to the Midwest.

OMAHA, Neb. — A major winter storm blanketed parts of the middle of the country with snow that was forecast into late Tuesday in some areas, disrupting traffic and closing some coronavirus testing sites.

The National Weather Service said at least 4 inches of snow is expected across most of an area stretching from central Kansas northeast to Chicago and southern Michigan. Parts of southeast Nebraska and western Iowa could get more than three times that much by Tuesday morning.

More than 10 inches of snow had already fallen in parts of eastern Nebraska by Monday evening, leading to early closures of several coronavirus testing sites in the state as well as Iowa.

Snow storm: Winter weather hits Iowa, Chicago, Midwest

Had our weekly conference call today with owners in Italy and California asked about the weather they are experiencing. One guy from Cali said he was skiing yesterday and saw a guy digging into the snow. Stopped and it was a friend who sank into the snow pack while skiing and by the time they reached him he was dead. Did nothing wrong just ended up in the wrong area, pretty sad... They received 8 foot of snow in 48 hours in the area

Are you talking about roads and stuff or did your home flood? I hope it was just the roads!

Front yard was flooded. I bought this house with floods in mind. It sits up on a plateau overlooking Deep Creek and the Mojave River. As you drive through the neighborhood, you drive by a lot of horse fencing and what looks like horse riding trails; they're actually flood control channels in disguise...

Lake Erie much shallower and always freezes over. People drive on it (dangerous) and ice fish on it. A couple days ago several folks had to be rescued from floes that broke off.

I've seen shows on Cable about Ice Fishing, mostly in Minnesota. Pretty interesting. People drive trucks like that monster that Scott owns and drag out huts on the ice for shelter while fishing. Crazy.

I've seen videos of Iceboating on the Hudson, but I'm not sure I've seen them on the Great Lakes, do they Iceboat on the Great Lakes?
