Bucs defense is really good that's why they are going to the Super Bowl. Brady made some really good throws but those picks almost gave it away, defense then erased those mistakes.

Pat Mahomes looks good and it looks like they will be the opponent.

Tampa Bay vs the Chiefs. Should be a great game. Bucs defense is really good and the Chiefs offense is really good. Brady certainly has the most experience of any QB ever to play the game in these things. Mahomes is uber talented for sure with a lot of weapons.

    I'm rooting for the Chiefs.

Quentin Nelson, Colts OG, was named All Pro for the third straight year, his third in the NFL following his college career at Notre Dame. Only one other NFL player was named All Pro in his first three years in the league. Can you guess? Hint: He was a running back with the Detroit Lions. ;)

Yeah I don't think Nick Eddy had much of an NFL career!! :D He was a great player at Notre Dame though and finished 3rd behind Spurrier and Greise in the 1966 Heisman race. Nick was injury prone in the NFL but did manage to play 5 years.

No only Barry Sanders would fill that bill. Doak Walker would come close though.

Sorry Bobda. Nice try. :) I know you knew the answer, but Terry wins because he guessed Barry Sanders.
I actually knew Nick pretty well in school. He lived next door to me freshman year. We formed a bit of a friendship. He was - and is today - a very down to earth nice guy.

Sid where did you live your 4 years at ND? I think back in your day they weren't promoting 4 years in the same dorm were they?

My Dad was a big ND fan during Ara’s era and was elated when the Lions drafted Eddy. His recounting to me when I was a kid of the olden days when the Lions won championships fired up my imagination of the great mystical past in the same way the children in Ireland must have felt when the village elder taught them about the ancient Celtic kings of the isle.

Terry, I was there during the transition from class quads to permanent dorms. My freshman year was the last year of class quads. I lived in Keenan Hall next door to Nick Eddy and Arunas Vasys. The next 3 years I lived in Alumni Hall. By pure coincidence, my son was assigned to my freshman dorm in the same room as part of a two-room suite. That was his room for 3 years until he moved off campus his senior year.

Bobda, that's a cool story about your dad. I love your comparison of your excitement listening to your dad to the tales told by by the Irish village elders. It reveals the love and admiration you had for him. He must have been a really good guy. He raised a fine son.

I have watched a lot of college football on Directv in 4k, it's spectacular. But it's not on any of the 4K Directv channels. I am a bit surprised.

    Go Chiefs!

Not looking good for the Chiefs. Tampa Bay is playing better on both sides of the ball.
