We need these new fresh football minds guys. The aging mentality of the pro game has been overrun by the new idea coaches of the Div 1 world. It isn't about the talent you recruit, it's how ya teach 'em and coach 'em. Throwing in a Hook and Ladder and a Statue play doesn't hurt either. I wonder if AD Steve P. has made a call to Boise yet?  BTW, I was glad to see that Callahan wasn't the only one that called a fake punt deep into his own territory.
I guess I don't understand how we did the same thing against OU and lost also? Something's broke. I don't know either Husker....looked to me like you whipped them boys! Sh!t happens.....hang in there. You guys are heading in the right direction.
:? The Notre Dame and Nebraska situations are similar, in that both teams are headed in the right direction, but not at the speed to please their fan bases. Lloyd is a different situation. I honestly don't know how I would feel if he was the coach of my team. He's a good coach and a winner. He recruits well and has upheld his school's traditions but... His teams blow some big games, underperform against teams with inferior talent and generally seem to play lower than their overall talent level. This year's Notre Dame game was a rare exception. I'm against firing coaches like that, because the next guy might be worse. But at some point, Wolvie fans might want to nudge him to retirement sooner than later...IMHO. ..............JO'Co
I believe some "Wolvie" fans are now scouting locations to "nudge" Lloyd to an early retirement. I had been a Lloyd defender for a llong time even to the point where O'Keefe joked that Mac Brown (pre NC days) would love a fan like me. And I even named by beloved Goldendoodle (standard poodle/Golden retriever mix) after him. But, I'm off the reservation after this Rose Bowl.
I know one thing....I heard enough crap around here for 4 weeks about UF cheating Michigan out of their rightful place in the NC game that I was actually pretty pleased to see them fall flat on their face. A whole lot of Gator hating around here topped off by a physical threat the other night made me enjoy a USC win over Michigan for the first time ever.
Your right Motorcity, it was Boise St. all along and none of us saw it coming. BTW, you guys are gonna get your ass kicked big time. Did somebody on this board threaten you? If so that's UNSAT!! Send 'em my way, I'll counsel 'em!!
Bobda off the Carr Bandwagon???? Well I never would have figured that, I'd like to help my buddy Bobda as much as I can. Maybe if Lloyd recieved a certain package from me he'd get the hint!!
MCG, Here was my post about the subject written soon after Fla was given the nod Gee, I sounded like a friggen stateman. Rejoycing in another's misfortune creates bad karma as you may find out on Monday.
All I know is, if Fla. loses by more than 3 against OSU, I'm glad I don't have to watch them play SC.
HFHM, MCG went to the Motor City Bowl wearing a Florida shirt and had an encounter with a Michigan fan.
Disfiguring that gift I gave you--a limited edition, serial numbered, Bobobblehead-- cost you big bucks, Mr. O'Keefe. Now that Bo has ascended into football Vallhalla with Michigan fans forgetting about his minor set backs in the Rose Bowl, a mint condition, limited edition, Bobobblehead put on Ebay causes wallets of CFB fans to open. It reminds me of the time, just after I married in the early 90s, when my wife and the rest of her Moveon.com/Dailykos.com Democratic family unmercifully mocked me when I showed them the autographed Gerald Ford biography I had purchased for $25 at the Ford Museum in 1982 when I first moved to GR. Now, a signed copy Jerry's book goes for $500 on ebay and every Democrat I know has nothing but great things to say about him, especially when comparing him with W.
Yeah Bobda...the thing that pissed me off is that if I had said what I really thought back at that a-hole we would have been instantly brawling and I had my teenage son and nephew with me and definitely didn't want to set a bad example not to mention either I lose a few teeth or get sued if he lost some. So....that ridiculous incident compounded with the local anti-UF radio geeks and the newsprint in Detroit made me realize that a Michigan win coupled with a Florida loss would not be in my best interests or that of my three sons that live here...especially my 9 year old.
LOL...given that Bobblehead Bo is now Nebraska Red, after being Burnt Orange and with a section of his jaw missing...I guess I did miss that boat!! But then again, maybe some Ohio State fans might appreciate BB in his current condition? Or I wonder if there is somebody who specializes in restoring damaged/defaced Mich memoribila? Lord knows there must be a lot of that out there!!
 re: Gators Nothing that happened in the Rose Bowl altered my thinking one bit. I still feel that Florida talked its way into the NC game and would get its arse kicked by either Michigan or USC in a game played out west. After seeing Boise State, I'm not sure that Florida would have gotten out of the first round of a national playoff system...
Even after considering that Fla solidly beat the team that just kicked ND in the Sugar Bowl you still feel that UF's play and the fact they actually won their conference had no bearing on the Gator's selection for the NC game Jo'Co? They merely.."talked"..their way in? Geez.....
8) Yes I do. Comparative scores mean nothing. The matchup is everything. The matchup we were rooting for was the Gators and our worst matchup was LSU at home. Oh well. Auburn physically pushed the Gators around and so did South Carolina. I think the combination of finally playing somewhere outside of the south and a very physical Buckeye team is bad news for Florida. We'll see.
Florida 23 LSU 10 It's laughable you don't think LSU is physical. "Comparative scores mean nothing" LSU 41 ND 14 It's laughable that you don't think Florida is physical.
