Well I am bummed. I have DISH tv and they are in dispute with the company who gives is local channels and CBS is blacked out. So I won't be able to see Fla - Tennessee. Blah.
I lost CBS (I'm on Directv) as well. I do have an external antenna hooked up to my TV so I could watch CBS channel over the air if I wanted to, I'm sure you could do the same thing Bill.
Sounds like Fields will play...the co-offensive coordinator Kevin Wilson said that one advantage of moving down to the sideline from the press box is that he will be able to look Justin Fields in the eye.
Terry and Bill, I have the same situation here with NBC vs. AT&T Uverse/DirectTV. I have an indoor antenna that brings in NBC loud and clear, and it's easy to switch back and forth between my cable box and the antenna. Bill, it's an inexpensive solution, roughly $25 or less for the antenna and tuner combo. If I can figure it out, anyone can. P.S. It may be that all 3 local stations are owned by TEGNA, Inc. which owns 49 TV stations in 41 markets and is at loggerheads with AT&T Uverse/DirectTV.
Sid, our problem is that we are in a small mountain community and the nearest station is to far away to use an antenna. I am probably do a trial of CBS All Access which is probably free for this game. Hopefully next week it will be on ESPN. Then assuming we are in the Championship game on the 19th it will also be on CBS. However we are going to Kissimmee that day and should arrive before that game starts and it's our daughters house with a whole houseful of Gators so we can watch that game there. I like your solution but mountain living in a small community brings on tv problems. Which are all offset of course by the quality of life it brings.
The BYU/Coastal Carolina game gets more interesting. 1. Came together quickly, Wednesday. 2. Had only hours to get the equipment truck loaded and headed to Carolina. Guys in the truck didn't really even know where they were going except to Carolina. Got destination after they were rolling. 3. Carolina OL avg 6'1"and 280, their center is 5'8"!
Mich v Ohio State is in doubt, according to the Freep. Michigan football pessimistic about Ohio State as COVID details emerge
ACC and SEC along with the Big 10 all will play some meaningless games on Dec 19th the same day as their championship. I wonder why?
Don I wonder if that rule even applies this year. BTW here's a crazy play from my nephews semifinal playoff win last night. He's the QB who throws the pick, then the guy who makes the pick fumbled and the ball bounces around and my nephew who as I said threw the int, picks it up and takes it to the house for a TD!
Maybe the end of the Tom Herman era...a analysis on InsideTexas. I'll just post the opening paragraph. Tom Herman has failed at Texas. A 30-18 overall record to this point and 21-13 mark in Big 12 play, while unimpressive, don’t quite tell the story. The failure to win a single Big 12 Championship despite signing 74 blue chips over five years while Oklahoma signed 71, TCU 27, Baylor 21, and everyone else in the conference under 10 gets a little closer to capturing why this wasn’t working. Perhaps the most deeply felt problem has been Texas’ failure under Heman to secure more 20-point victories in Big 12 play since 2017 than just one team...Kansas. They’re tied with Kansas State currently, each program boasting only two 20-point victories, while Oklahoma paces the league with 13 such wins. Great teams don’t routinely win close games because great teams don’t routinely PLAY close games, they blow teams out. Watching Texas in the Tom Herman era has meant watching the Longhorns struggle to generate wins on a weekly basis. Rather than reveling in Texas’ status as the most resource-rich program in the league, as the flagship program of the nation’s most football-crazed state, fans and alumni of the University have had to squirm for four quarters every Saturday as their team desperately fends off Texas Tech and Kansas and succumbs to Iowa State and Baylor. This ain’t what being a Longhorn is supposed to feel like. This was a down year for the Big 12, well illustrated by Oklahoma’s weekly struggle to stay alive while Iowa State has held onto the top spot. Despite this context, Texas will be ending the season not only without any hardware but also without having even played in the league title game.
Ok...not used to this....14 point lead...only 1/2 way through 1st qtr....losts of time left to ruin my weekend....
