Posted on twitter: Heather Dinich If a Big Ten player or coach has a positive daily antigen test that is followed by a NEGATIVE PCR test, it is considered a false positive, and that player or coach can return to team 24 hours after test. Big Ten false positives so far LESS than .5% with about 43k tests in league.
Ralph, always good to see you back in print I trust you and your family are in good health. We are fine here in a most unusual year thus far.
One thing I do expect this weekend, is that if Ohio State covers against Neb that they will jump over both Georgia and Notre Dame into the #3 slot.
I believe that is true. In fact I am of the opinion that Clemson, Alabama and Ohio State are pretty near locks, leaving the 4th spot. It will be pretty hard for Georgia to get it as they would have to beat Florida, where they will be favored, then play Alabama again and the only way I see Georgia getting in is if they can beat Bama. From the outcome of the first game that is not likely. Florida would have to win out including beating Bama, which is also not likely. Oregon looks like a good possibility to me.
Bill, it's hard to say how things are going to go since the Big 10 and and the PAC 12 haven't played a down yet. One big asterisk!
True Kp, but based on what we have seen so far Alabama and Clemson are head and shoulder above the rest. I think it's a pretty good bet Ohio State is there also. But I think there is certainly a big asterisk for the schools that haven't started yet. Who knows a 2 loss team might sneak in.
When can we talk about how deep a hole L$U should be tossed in, and how much cement should be poured in on top of them?????
I think Ogeron got.too much credit for a one season wonder. How deep the hole is depends on how much success he can sustain. I've seen too many coaches have a series of so so seasons, then have a year where he has wild success followed by more years of mediocrity. He has never been real successful at all, except for last.year.
I had to do a bit of research, as I could not remember exactly where he coached. Really never followed Auburn either.
Of course there is Larry Coker who inherited a loaded Miami squad from Butch Davis and won the 2001 Nat'l Championship and played for the 2002 Nat'l Championship which they lost in a controversial ending, probably wouldn't have gotten to that had they not lost their AA RB Willis MaGahee to a knee injury in the 2nd half. But after a great start, he was 34-3 in his 1st three years productivity declined a bit and was fired after the next 3 years when he was 25-12, his last year was 7-6 with a losing record in the ACC.
Geez this whole thing with the Eyes of Texas just keeps getting worse. Now enough members of the Longhorn Band are refusing to play the Eyes of Texas that they won't play the song, instead a recording of the song will be played. The President of the University said the band will not be at the home game this weekend vs Baylor anyway but that the song will continue to be played. I don't know what they'll do for the next home game, have the band sit while they play a recording, or will those band members who want to play it stand and play while their bandmates who don't sit and watch? University of Texas Longhorn band won't play "The Eyes of Texas" this weekend after some members say they're unwilling
Oh yeah Chizik was family at Auburn until he came back to earth. As a matter.of fact, it was.a situation very similar to Ogeron. Chizik won with Cam Newton and within 2 or 3 years was no longer family and was fired.
