FWIW ...Astros were 3-7 vs the A's this season and didn't play the ChiSox. ChiSox were however 5-5 vs the Twins this season so maybe we'd have a better shot with them. Plus it's out on the coast so they'll be out of synch with their Central Time zone body clocks just like the Astros.

Cards vs. Dodgers have always been historic donnybrooks since 1890.

Through the end of the 2019 season the Cards held a slight advantage over the Dodgers..

1044-1040 and a 14-9 record in the playoffs. Of course the Playoffs didn't start till 1969 when MLB went to 2 divisions in each league.

Eehhhhh....fun to watch, but Cards are outgunned across the board versus the Dodgers. Things happen, but LA sweeps the Cards. Gotta get past SD tonite. Cards +215

Do the Cards have to beat the Padres in order to get to the epic series with the Dodgers? :D;)

    How's that Karma feeling?

Cubs are in trouble and may get eliminated. I've been a Cards fan almost since birth. They were my first favorite team at age 7 when my family lived in St. Louis. Stan Musial is one of my two lifetime idols (Ernie Banks the other). I'd love to see them win their series and move on. I just felt like acknowledging AJ's lack of sportsmanship following the Cubs loss and how it bit him in the back side last night. There. I feel much better now. :D

Astros were dominated by the A's this season, going 3-7 against them. The pitching strategy that Dusty Baker used against the Twins, stacking starters to avoid the shaky middle relief staff, worked in a 3 game series but won't work in a 5 game series. That's the Astros biggest weakness, starters have been ok but the bullpen has blown a lot of games.

Justin Verlander had his Tommy John surgery this week, he won't be able to pitch till 2022 season and will be a free agent after the 2021 season. I seriously doubt that the Astros will resign him at age 39 coming off of that surgery. I'm sure somebody will give him a chance, but not at the 30 million/year he's earning right now.

I hadn't thought of it but the "bubble" that the teams will play in for the Divisional Series allows for no travel days off and so 5 straight days of play if it goes to 5 games. That means you either have to pitch your Ace on short rest or figure out a 5th starter.

Dodgerdogs are most concerned with two teams: Yankees and Padres. Yes. I said the Padres. They became a concern starting last year when they brought up Tatis Jr. and signed Manny Machado to a long term contract. They have a front office full of cowboys who will do anything to beat the Dodgers and reverse decades of humiliation. This year they signed TEN players at the trade deadline, including TWO new catchers to replace the ones they had. Their bullpen is the most improved in MLB and their young team will be a pain in our backside for years to come. I hope the Cards beat them.
