Gators set records for offense but give up a bundle of yardage on defense.

Right now based on the UF offense I'd say the Gators are the favorites for the SEC East. Georgia right now looks like they don't really have a QB.

Here's hoping you are right Terry.

Us Gators are optimistic, but the defense sure has to be better than today.

I'll bet Kirby Smart never expected that Stetson Bennett would even play this season. He was destined to hold a clipboard. Kirby no doubt saw Jamie Newman as his starter, giving JT Daniels plenty of time to rehab and get ready for later in the season if Newman didn't work out. That freshman (RS) D'Wan Mathis no doubt was thought of as a future QB. Then Newman opts out, and Daniels isn't physically ready to go right now....and while Stetson had a good game once he got settled...Arkansas is a bad team.

Given that all the teams who aspire to the CFP have to have an excellent QB, UGA is at a disadvantage right now. UGA is loaded with talent, but maybe that straw needed to stir the drink is missing. I wonder if JT Daniels is going to be able to play this season?

Terry, no Smart didn't figure on this but if you watched Bennett he was cool in the pocket. He may be a player.

I didn't see any of the game but Arkansas was ranked #14 in the SEC pre-season, behind Vanderbilt. So I might want to see him vs Auburn next week to see if he can maybe actually be a legit starter.
