I'm not sure Alabama AD nixed the idea. He did announce it wasn't going to happen.

True, it was likely neither he nor Jack Swarbrick ever talked, it was the dream of the promoters of the Chik Fil A kickoff classic

Now some are reporting that BYU will play the Tide should the SEC allow non conference games

Yeah, I saw that too. It seems like a lot of arrangements to be made in 30 or 40 days.

Irish reportedly will wait to see what the ACC will decide before making a decision.

I'm guessing that since the Big 10 is going to (attempt) play 10 games, that will be what everyone else does as well. Irish have 6 ACC games and speculation is that the ACC will include ND in their plans

I saw a suggestion recently that Ohio State might choose either Army or Navy for the 10th game. At this point I just hope we can watch some football and protect the players and coaches as well. That may be a tall order indeed.

I'd guess that ND Navy will probably be played probably at Navy. I could see the Western game going also. The Cal. schools probably won't be playing anyone and USC is already listed as cancelled. Right now it looks like ND has maybe 8 games pending.

Don that would seem odd, that the Big 10 would say conference only but allow Ohio State to schedule a non-conference game. It would seem that other conference members would also want that +1 option.

As I said earlier it was simply a suggestion from someone and has no basis for fact.
