But Iowa did provide him a nice big wad of green poultice to alleviate the pain caused by the separation.
College Football news today is dominated not by football but political issues surrounding it. Interim Texas President to meet with students including athletes over the demands that were issued over the weekend. Texas A&M QB Kellen Mond came out vigorously demanding the removal of the Statue of Sul Ross. Virginia is changing it's new logo to remove some items that suggest a tie to it's racist past.
The surprising number to me is that both OU and Clemson who have multiple CFP appearances are 20 points down from Alabama. Also given the record the Longhorns have had, that they are #4 on that list. Coaching might be an issue if talent isn't, right?
I'm surprised the Aggies are that high, considering Sumlin's end recruits are part of that equation... RE: Kellen Mond - if he wants to blindly follow the "rage" against statues without finding out what the man's life was really about... he can pack his bags and hit the road.
Clemson only plays 2-3 tough teams per year; the two in the Playoffs and maybe one on the schedule. Alabama and Georgia has to slug their way through a much tougher schedule. OSU plays a moderate schedule.
George, our moderate schedule includes three of the top 20 games to watch per CBS Sports. Oregon on the road Penn State on the road and Michigan at home. However, I do not really disagree with your post.!
Don, more to the point, I think Clemson played 1 team in the top 25 before the playoffs last year. That helps alot.
NCAA approved a 6 week plan for college football to return. They also waived the limit of 110 players in the fall camp, schools can have as many as they want. NCAA council OK's football 6-week practice plan
Don, were you laughing out loud when you typed Michigan playing in Columbus as one of OSU’s tough match ups this year?
I guess the CBS writer hasn’t followed the history of the series the past two decades. The yearly beat downs has traumatized me to the point that I now think of the final game as a Harlem Globetrotters vs Washington General type of rivalry....
Yeah, Bobda...I have to recommend therapy for my friend Crazy John every November...but all things come to an end.
Fauci channels his inner Lee Corso and says, “Not so fast my friend”. https://www.star-telegram.com/news/nation-world/national/article243626272.html
Univ of Houston catching a lot of flack locally for not testing all the players before starting voluntary workouts, and esp getting flack because the Ath Director and the School President are nowhere to be found commenting on the issue.
Bobda I think football in the fall definitely is at a risk. The whole bubble thing is what the NBA and WNBA are trying to do by playing out the season at one location with all the players/teams staying at a hotel and isolating. There are obvious financial motivations for having the football season, as well everybody wanting to see some football this fall. With the European Soccer Leagues back in action, if they can make it through the summer maybe football can as well.
What do you think is going to happen with bowl games at the end of the season? Will stadiums still be limited to 25% of capacity, will fans of the participating teams travel? I wonder if all of the small bowls will reduce payouts making it unprofitable for teams to make the trip. If the season comes off, I imagine will be fine with the CFP games, the rest of them I wonder if they are played.
