It's all over the Gator boards that he switched his commitment from Texas to Florida.

What are you hearing Terry?

I'm hoping it's true and I'm sure Texas fans are hoping it's not.

I will say though that while Tebow is obviously a good fit for the Spread/Option, that Brantley is more like Chris Leake it seems to me and that I wouldn't think he'd be what Meyer wants. Don't you also have some other guys who are comming in that are more in the Athletic type mould that Meyer likes for the QB?

 

Terry, we have two other QB's coming in, Bryan Waggener a Junior College player whose LOI was recieved today and Cameron Newton from Georgia whose 6' 6" and a running QB.

I understand what you are saying about Brantley, but the folks on GatorCountry who seem to know a lot about him feel he will fit in Meyer's offense just fine.

I'm kind of surprised about this but have been hearing rumors for a few weeks now.

I hope this doesn't turn out for the Gators like Snead turned out for the Longhorns. QB's don't seem inclined to stay around and wait like other positions.

 

I think Brantley or Newton or both could redshirt and therefore give themselves at least two years separation from Tebow.

There is talk on the Texas boards that Meyer arranged a Tennis Scholarship for Brantley's girlfriend to induce him to come to UF.

Maybe she's a very good tennis player?

Maybe Mustain's H/S coach is a great football coach? :lol:

 

She is a very good tennis player with scholarship offers from a number of schools. Also the Gators are very good at tennis and if she got the scholarship she must be very good.

I also hear she has a bright futures scholarship that will pay 90% of her tuition, books etc.

So I think she got the scholarship on her own and it's a great benifit for getting Brantley also.

But don't forget his Gator roots run deep.

But I think the biggest thing with this kid is that his family are Gators to the bone. Father, uncle and I think others, he grew up attending Gator games.

Of course it doesn't hurt that his girlfriend is going to Gainesville.
