I'll be interested to see how Texas A&M does tonight. They played a 'who is who' from Clemson, to Alabama, to Georgia to LSU' and still escaped the season with only 5 losses on a young team. That's a schedule that would have sent a lot of times into a year of despair. I think Okie State is Hubbard and not much else... which is not really a good thing because the Aggies weakness is their secondary. They can tackle though. I think if the Aggies win this, the SEC may have a good bowl year. If they don't, it could be a sign of trouble.
quick check of ticket prices on Vivid Seats.....Sugar Bowl 5$... Alabama/Mich 50$....ND/Iowa State 13$
I really wish we had the money to go. Believe it or not, I'd like to see Iowa State play and of course, root for the Irish.
how was 29 not ejected on that play. Play was over he got up and ran over and sucker punched a OSU player from behind.
Well some big runs by Chubba, some big pass plays by the OSU QB...but more importantly the 2 TO's the A&M offense gave OSU were erased by the Aggie defense. Aggie running game seems ok with just that 1 back. 14-7 OSU at halftime.
Kind of thought this A&M/OSU game would be a high scoring game. But it's not...into the 4th qtr 14-14.
Looking like A&M is going to get this win. Aggie defense has given OSU fits in the 2nd half. Plus Mond had a big play run to give them the lead. Iowa seemingly having their way with USC. I thought the USC Air Raid would just run over them.
Flipping between this game, which A&M is about to put to bed and the USC-Iowa game on FS1.. I am getting texts from my SC friends and they are still miserable. One of them, whose Dad spent years in the NFL and USFL, as well as coaching college and high school, spotted a USC LT smiling after giving up a sack... You can imagine how bad it was. I'd share it with you guys but it was 3 texts filled with mostly expletives but his overall point was "I assure you that isn't the first time he's smiled after giving that up. That's a heart thing. How does a guy with that heart start for you?" The answer is shitty coaching, but I'll spare you the long answer here too
Onside kick .no good, Aggies win. 24-21. It was a good game. Now on to Wazzu/USAFA. Have the Cougars ever faced a Service Academy Triple Option team? What a contrast though. One team who wants to score fast in 5 play drives, run 100 plays. The other team who wants to wear you down with time of possession and 16 to 18 play drives. If this is the 1st time playing the triple option, it could be a challenge for Wazzu, but do the Flyboys have what it takes to keep up with an Air Raid Offense?
So USAFA after the 4th and goal stop, keep the ball the rest of the 1st qtr are about 18 plays in when the qtr ends and they are 2nd and goal on the 1yd line. Wazzu offense just cooling their heels on the sideline.
Well I don't get it. Air Force goes on one of their long drives again after WSU scores and get to 1st and goal at about the 10. 1st down run is stopped by a great play by WSU. Then after having so much success running the football, they decide to throw 2 passes...incomplete of course. Kick FG. Keep doing what is working and what you are good at..it's not that hard.
