"I have a 2 hr. drive to Tuscaloosa. As I get older I want to leave my easy chair on Saturdays less and less." My feelings exactly about my 2.5 hour drive to Gainesville. It's a long day for my 65 year old bones and I'm always the driver. A bar or my living room is the first choice for me but I do get to at least one game every year since I gave up my season tickets a few years ago. This year it is the Auburn game and I paid 140.00 a piece to sit in the North endzone very close to where my season tickets used to be.
Not a lot of news from the Pac12 Media days, but one thing I noticed is that ESPN is reporting that Oregon signed the #1 prospect in California and has 6 other top California kids in their class. They report that 10 of the top 15 players in the state have left the state. USC who under Pete Carroll just dominated West Coast recruiting, only has 1 kid in the top 15. Poor recruiting, and losing to ND/UCLA is not good for Clay Helton's future. People keep speculating that Urban Meyer will be the next USC coach.
Hey, I'm a cancer patient and 2.5 hours is nothing for a great football game I have to drive an hour and 15 minutes just to go to UAB for treatment. Sack up!
My 2 sisters are coming to.town in early September and I got us tickets to the New Mexico St. game. Those I could afford. I think they are on the 40 yd. line.
Yeah Corey some games are worth it.... but usually a season ticket is not with all of the lesser games that pop up.... such as Kp's MNexSt. Plus 2.5 hours driving RT is 5 hours plus the gameday events. And there is that expense thing..... Good games are very pricey these days.
Ticket prices at the major colleges are really expensive compared to what they were not that long ago.
Yeah that is very true, but it's been a long time since I've been to a game and it's frustrating being surrounded by the SEC where there's a good game within driving distance every weekend. lol
Thanks KP, I'll check those out. I've been to a few Alabama games but that was before the stadium expansion. I think the last one I was at was the Iron Bowl in which Fran-phony coached his last Iron Bowl. I'd like to see the new stadium and a Saban coached team.
oh okay, I was thinking $500 plus the cost of the ticket??!?!?! No way. lol Money is incredibly tight especially now that I have to start radiation, but if it weren't, that LSU game is mighty tempting.
I've seen LSU in South Bend and in Nashville. It's a pity I won't have the money to see them in Bryant-Denny. lol They are some of my favorite fans in college football..
