I'm just curious because out of my group of friends, I have 22 people who are signing back up for HBO this month (after dropping it over a year ago). I was thinking if that many people from just my small group of friends are doing it, then what are the American and global numbers for subscriptions looking like?
I'm like Stu. I read all the books and I've watched every TV episode. Before GOT, I hadn't watched a TV show in almost 50 years...
It's the only TV "Show" I watch. Had to watch ep 1 of season 8 on my freakin' phone! Who knew Embassy Suites doesn't carry HBO?!
Can't decide who I want to kill Cerci... just please God let her DIE! (and cry ugly while she does it!)
She's far away from the battle, perhaps something underhanded is afoot since she didn't send her army?
The question for me right now: Where will the real "last stand" happen? Winterfell won't hold, so there's got to be somewhere further south to have a final "winner take all" battle. RiverRun? I don't think it will be King's Landing.
I got an explanation from your brother last night, but I didn't understand it. He has GOT House flags flying over his garage, so I assume that he's an expert...
okay here we go... Jon Snow's REAL father is the brother of Daenerys Targaryen. His name was Rhaegar Targaryen. Remember that Robert's Rebellion was fought because it was believed that Rhaegar had kidnapped Lyanna Stark, which wound up not being true. Rhaegar Targaryen had his marriage annulled to Oberyn Martell's sister. He married Lyanna Stark in secret. After Robert had won and Rhaegar was killed, Lyanna knew that Robert Baratheon would never accept another Targaryen child and would have her baby murdered just like he did to all of the Targaryen children except for Daenerys and her brother, who were whisked away to foreign lands and hidden. Lyanna, who lay bleeding to death on her birthing bed, gave the baby (Jon Snow) to Ned and asked him to keep the baby as his own bastard. Ergo, Jon Snow. Sam uncovered the truth in the scrolls at the Citadel. Bran also saw this in his visions. I believe the confusion stems from the fact there was another Aegon, but he was one of the children murdered by Sir Gregor Clegane. The murder of the children and the rape/murder of their mother Elia Martell wound up being the basis for the blood fueled revenge that drove Oberyn Martell, which led to the Mountain vs the Viper. SHORT VERSION: Jon Snow's real father is Rhaegar Targaryen, who is Daenerys' big brother. She is related to Jon Snow the same way that your daughter Jennifer is related to Carson. Without all the wars and incest of course.
Moving forward, I really enjoyed last night's episode "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms." Not posting any spoilers for those who haven't seen it, but it was a good, wholesome episode .. well, mostly wholesome. Very rare. The wet sh*t hits the fan next week.
I see the HBO has announced that this week's episode will be 90 minutes long. They're gonna kill off a lot of people in 90 minutes.
