An intresting point was made the other night about the coaches poll. During an Urban Meyer interview last night..they asked him whether or not he had seen OSU play. He told them..other than agaisnt michigan..nah not really. Herbstreit brought up that why are these coaches voting for these teams...when the fact is they only see them once or twice a season. Other than reading the morning paper..they have no idea whatsoever whether one team is better than the other. As for a playoff..having the top 4 seeds battle it out wouldnt be such a bad idea. 1 vs 4..2 vs 3..and the winners go to the BCS title game. But then again..there will be controversy on which teams belong in the top 4 spots.
I think it's a well known fact and has been for years, that somebody in the Ath Directors office usually makes the picks for the coaches and then has the coach look them over and make any changes he wants. But you're right, the polls are ridiculous...Every SEC coach voted for UF and every B10 coach voted for UM (except Zook who's probably in trouble). Terry
What I find interesting is that the two best coaches in college football- Charlie Weiss and Mac Brown-voted Michigan no. 2. 8)
Petrino, Tedford, Rodriguez and Beamer... Very well respected coaches who all voted for Florida as #2.
