I still think this game needs to be moved to the new stadium in Las Vegas and marketed much better. I'm a Pac12 homer and I didn't even know the game was today. However, empty seats have been a common theme this year. ND played in front of 59k at USC and 55 at Yankee Stadium. ND barely managed to sell out some of their home dates. We've seen the swamp 3/4 full. There's a lot of reasons for it. I still think having the P12 title game at Levi Field is a mistake. Vegas is where it should be played.
It was a very un-Pac12 like game. 10-3, with the only TD coming on a weird pick 6 by Washington. I don't think I've ever seen a Pac12 Champ game that had a sellout. SECCG has always been a sellout, the old B12 Championship game was always well attended, the ACC Championship game has been like the Pac12 poorly attended. I think the B1G game has always been well attended.
You're comparing a game between 1 and 4 in the nation. Both schools within an easy driving distance of Atlanta. That's not the same as the Pac12 game. People in the South don't really understand the travel involved in playing in the Pac12. That's why I propose moving the game to Las Vegas. Bigger airport, more attractions, more things to do. You make it an actual event rather than just a football game right outside of wine country.
