<t>So Jo’Co and Corey what do expect for a crowd Saturday eve. Lots of ND fans buying tickets? The game I saw against Cal had a lot of empty seats.</t>

The ND fans will fill those seats. I don't know many ND fans in the Southwestern US that aren't going to this game. I haven't spoken to my sister, or Sean or any of those guys. They brought hundreds to the game in San Diego and a tailgate that included both Kory Minor and Joey Geatherall. I'm betting they bring a much bigger showing to the USC game.

Let's not forget, USC hates us too. They'll be out in numbers.

I'll have a lot of spies at the game. Any unsold tickets will quickly be gobbled up by Irish fans. My granddaughter got tickets from her boyfriend in the third row, which is fantastic at the Coliseum. The bad news is the bastards are now charging visitors $150.00 to park in the parking structure. If it rains, that's the only shelter there is. My relatives refuse to pay those prices, of course, and they will park downtown and ride the shuttle over to the game...

    re: Kory Minor

I have no idea how my family and friends came to know him and Joey Geatherall. What I do know is that Damien HS just fired their coach and the alumni is on a crusade to hire Kory Minor as the new head coach. He's currently the head coach at some small HS down in Orange County...

Joey is LAPD and was in the Rampart division the last I heard. I know that's where Chris Almaraz started, but I am not sure if he's still there or not.

Minor owned a bunch of Domino's Pizza franchises after his NFL career ended. Then he sold them all off and started his own business, which I hear is doing quite well. He is also the head coach of a small Episcopalian school in Orange County. I would love nothing more than bringing Minor on board at Damien. He's a cousin to Eric Bienemy and that would hopefully conclude that long standing feud between that family and DHS.

JOCO will remember Bubba, Larry Bryant, who played with me but was a sophomore when I was a senior. He played at Washington and then had a stint with the Washington Redskins. Bryant has been producing very good athletes who have competed at Damien over the past decade. The other day he posted a picture of his oldest son's team at Damien, the last to win a league title, and the most recent team. God what a difference. Gone are the days of 100 man varsity teams, 70 man JV teams that were only sophomores, and 150 man freshman teams. I don't know what changed to allow that program to become a shell of itself, but it needs to be changed now.

There's always a level of nerves that come before a contest. At some point in time, you just have to say '**** these guys' and let it fly. Give it your best and leave it all on the field.

In today's college ball going undefeated is really difficult.....unless you're UCF.

    My spies have reported in....

They're at the Coliseum and they just sent a picture to Mrs. JO'Co. It's an airplane towing a sign over the Coliseum that says, " Lynn Swan: Fire Clay Helton."

This dog of an SC team has decided to play. We're in a real dogfight.

They have a lot of talent, and all week all they have heard is that they have quit, and their coach is going to be fired. How great the Irish are double digit underdogs, etc. Not surprising that they have come to play with emotion and are able to play fast and loose.... Nothing to lose.

Irish better score on the first possession after halftime.

What a joy to play a team that just sucked all year long eve though it had lots of talent. So when the coach tells them " you can make your season by beating ND" they actually get off their asses and play so much better than they have all season long. This wasn't the same group of slugs that lost to UCLA last week. What crap.

History has not been kind to undefeated Irish teams, even when USC has been unranked.

    :D

UCLA was not dog do-do. They finished their season tonight by almost upsetting Stanford. One of the St. Brown brothers got a late TD to pull out the win. The Bruins weren't alone. Nebraska, Purdue, AZ and AZ State, Cincinnati and Fresno State all showed dramatic improvement during the year. They won't stay young forever and UCLA and Nebraska were showing a lot of kick late in the season.

As for USC...I hope they keep their coach. They're losing recruits to both Notre Dame and UCLA...

How the hell did they get that RB out of Indianapolis to go to USC? How did we let him get away? That freshman was a grown ass man running with the football.

I thought our approach was too methodical, but we came back to win while the Trojans were just sky high. Some games are hate games for a reason, and I would have preferred to see a little more fight in the fightin Irish early on. Still, 12-0 with 5 weeks off.

Some of our opponents did well for themselves today. Did anyone see the total ass kicking that Wake put on a 7 win Duke team?

It was clear the USC games plan was to win the game with yardage after the catch. Their QB completed 15 moreover passes than Book with three fewer yards. Good strategy. The Irish coaches adjusted well at half time and quickly restored order in the second half. That was the best secondary coverage we faced all year.
