So here we are the end of the Regular season, a lot still on the line besides bragging rights. Some key upsets could turnover the CFP apple cart.

It all starts on Turkey day with the Egg Bowl.

Miss State at Ole Miss...a game mainly for bragging rights and better bowl. Still it's football on Thanksgiving. Something that was once a tradition in Texas but isn't anymore.

    A lot of Friday Games

Texas at KU ...so this isn't a Rivalry game, Longhorns can nail down a spot in the B12 Championship game. I mean Les Miles is not going to coach this game so we should win, even if they won't let Bevo on the field. Breck Hager won't be caught telling the truth after this game, no way will he say OU sucks to somebody with a microphone. :) But they do.

Nebraska at Iowa...I'll need a ruling from AJ if this is a rivalry game. But it's an important game for both. Neb can finish off the season on an upbeat and look forward to 2019, Iowa gets to lord over Neb about their Corn being taller and a better bowl.

Oklahoma at West Virginia ..another important but non-rivalry type of game. Winner gets to go to the B12 Championship game to face Texas. I'm rooting for West Virginia because OU Sucks and it's hard to beat a team twice in the same season. Rematches are a bitch for the winner of the 1st game.

UCF at South Florida....Can UCF keep it going and some hope for the CFP? Probably

Washington at Washington State ....The Apple Cup, a big time rivalry. Winner goes to the Pac12 Champ game. Pac 12 fans should be rooting for Wazzu because they are the last hope of the league getting into the CFP.

Michigan at Ohio State ...Michigan the favorite, the Don Brown Maginot Line Defense can not be crossed! :) First time Mich has been favored in a long time. Ohio State coming off a near loss to Maryland, Buckeyes are 10-1 but you'd think they were 6-5 reading things. Can Ohio State defense keep the score low and take it to the 4th qtr?

Georgia Tech at Georgia. Does this game have a name, I guess it's a rivalry game, but not like most I think. Tech is having a pretty good year and that offense is always tough to handle. I can't imagine Georgia letting this one get away, too much on the line.

Florida at FSU ...Gators are probably amped up to put an big whupping on the downtrodden Seminoles. They are a talented team without a rudder it seems. But they are better than Idaho, so might be more of a game then you might think.

Auburn at Alabama....Payback is a bitch, I imagine that the Tide will roll in this one. Auburn just hasn't been able to be consistent this year.

So.Carolina at Clemson...this is a more bitter rivalry I think than most people know about. Clemson though smells the finish line and fries the chickens.

Tenn at Vanderbilt. A game that in most years is a guaranteed win for the Vols. Not this year, neither team is really good, so I don't know what will happen. Vols would like to finish it out with a win of course but which team will show up? The one that beat Kentucky or the one that got run over by Missouri?

LSU at Texas A&M ...another rivalry game that isn't really a rivalry. I'm not exactly sure who is A&M's big rival these days. But I'm pretty sure that LSU fans don't consider A&M their big rival...that would likely be Alabama or maybe even Ole Miss. Aggies need the win to finish it out on a high note, Jimbo has an elite top 5 class coming to A&M so better things are ahead. Eddie O who a lot of people thought wouldn't finish the year, has had a pretty good year. Should be a good game.

Notre Dame at USC. USC a squad that is a huge disappointment to their fans, but beating undefeated CFP bound Notre Dame would make everything OK for the fans and probably the coach. Irish seem focused as a team on the goal and I will be shocked if the Trojans can pull the upset. But that's why we play the games.

BYU at Utah ...is this called the Holy War? I think it is but Utah is a state school so I'm not sure why. This game won't count for the Utes in their bid for the Pac12 south, but I have no doubt that they want to beat BYU in the worst possible way.

There are lots of other games this weekend but these games are sort of special for various reasons. No disrespect to Minn vs Wisconsin for some bucket or Axe but it's not a game of much interest beyond the fan bases. Same for Purdue and IU again I'm sure there is a cool trophy but not of much interest to others outside of Indiana. Oregon vs Oregon State, the Civil War is another one, again outside Oregon it's not a big deal this year.

Enjoy your football guys and the Turkey and the family and friendship. I'm Thankful for the Skybox and the guys and gals who lurk here.

    Happy Thanksgiving.

MsSU @ Miss - Guess who's not going to a bowl, even if they win, which they won't. In order to not upset my dinner, I'll pass on this dish.

tu @ KU - huh, what a headliner replacement to THE rivalry game. Too bad this one won't be on the Longhorn network since it should be filled with orange highlights as they punch their ticket.

NU @ Iowa - who would question the heated rivalry concerning who grows the most/best corn??? NU gets the upset to finish #3 or #4 (pending PU game) in the division.

OU @ WV - Does the B12 have any rivalries left that are played on rivalry weekend? I mean, it's only the traditional weekend of legendary rivalries. Anyway, this one could upset a lot of apple carts! I'm guessing whatever happens, it'll come down to a 2-pt conversion and more than 40 points each. I'm also leaning toward OU NOT getting a fourth win in that scenario.

UCF @ USF - UCF continues their march of Florida football domination.

uw @ WSU - Can you guess which PAC 12 school has the most conference wins and best conference win percentage since 2015? That would be Wazzu. Stanford #2, and uw #3. (WSU also has the 12th best win percent in the power five conferences since 2015.) This game decides the P12N (and likely P12 champion) for the third straight year. As the standout Frosh RB Max Borghi said, "it's going to be epic". This year's Cougars have developed into one of the all time great Cougar teams and they will make jam out of the Seattle softies! Playing for the Roses, CFP !

UM @ OSU - This looks like the perfect spot for UM to rexert their dominance in this game. OSU's recent success has been built on better Urban (and Tressel) teams, but Harbaugh's influence has finally taken root up North. OSU could have reasonably lost four or five this year, but figured out how to get the wins. Everything points to UM, but don't be surprised if Urban has been rope-a-doping all year.

GT @ UGA - Isn't this good old fashioned hate, or something similar? How epic for GT to take down UGA here. As we saw against Bama in the first half last week, triple option teams can provide outsized results. UGA should be able to out-talent them, based on star ratings, but look for GT to make it a fight.

UF @ FSU - oooh, perfect spot for the Gators to put it on a down and nearly out FSU, ending the FSU (illegally-extended by 1 year) bowl run for real. Gators are going to score 40+.

AU @ Bama - If Citadel hadn't pissed in Nick's Wheaties, War Eagle would have had a shot. As it is, AU may not be allowed past midfield.

SCAR @ Clemson - SCAR puts a scare into Clemson this weekend. For three quarters.

Tenn @ Vandy - I can't figure either of them out. Only the winner will go to a bowl, and I'll reluctantly call it for Vandy.

LSU @ A&M - This may not be historical, but there is hate here. A&M isn't LSU's biggest target of vitriol, but there is a history at least. A&M has the defense to take them down, and Kyle will be loud.

ND @ USC - I read the ESPN article on the history of this rivalry, where USC came back from 24-6 to win the game 55-24 by scoring 49 points in the last 17 minutes. I also loved the quote of Lou Holtz, who was informed that the Trojans people, instead of him referring to them as "Southern Cal" they prefer "USC" or "Southern California". He said "I was not aware of that. I am glad you brought it to my attention. To the Southern Cal people, I apologize." :D Classic, and couldn't happen to a more deserved, stick up their ass, arrogant prigs than Southern Cal fans. USC is not good and the whole program is in disarray, exactly how I like it. But, as T points out, it would be nothing better in their year than to ruin ND's title hopes, for the umpteenth time. I don't see it, but the possibility is there.

BYU @ UU - Utah hasn't lost to the mormons in almost two decades. BYU, of course, counts this as their #1 goal every year. It won't matter, even down their QB and RB, UU rolls the sanctimonious blue devils.

UO @ OrSU - Civil War. The Ducks can improve the quality of their bowl with a win, but more importantly, keep their little brothers at bay. Beavers fight hard, but just don't have the talent at this point to win.

Stan @ UCLA - The P12N continues their domination of the P12S, even with UCLA being better than their record would indicate.

ASU @ UA - UA needs the win to get to bowl eligibility, and I think coming off their embarrassment last weekend, Khalil Tate exacts revenge on ASU.

CU @ Cal - CU goes 0-7 after starting out 5-0, missing out on a bowl. Cal has a really good defense, and CU is in a bad spot.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING T, thanks for doing this!

I wanna echo Gip's statement. I really appreciate you guys and all you do for the board.

I think the level of hate is downplayed in the Tech-Georgia game. There is absolutely no love there at all.

    Ditto the USC-ND game.

Corey, my son-in-law is a big UGA fan and his big hate is for Florida. Ga Tech is still a rival but I think their so-so teams for the last few decades has lessened the hate to more like a dismissive dislike.

    SURVEY SAYS!

Not a rivalry for the most part. More of an understanding that the best thing to come outa Iowa is Interstate 80.

Now Whisky is more so. A program basically bluprinted from NU of old, and a team we haven't beaten yet since joining. The last true rivalry we've ever had was obviously OU.

Right now I'd rank as: Whisky then NW then the Hogeyes.

For the record, if we play a clean game and punch them early, we have a chance. If we dont stop the TE's and running game, we lose by at least 14.

    Here we go!

A&M/LSU may not seem like a rivalry, but we do have history with them having played 50-sum times. We have proximity, as well as recruiting battles.
They are on a roll right now, and so probably don't worry about the Aggies too much, but their short memories want to forget how we were drubbing them in the 80's and 90's.
That's OK. We'll rekindle things starting this season.
I was feeling pretty good about this game thanks in no small part to L$U's mundane run-based offense.
One thing I know - we can stop the run.
That is, until Otaro Alaka went out against UAB.
The one place we can't afford a hit was at LB... having already lost the one capable back up to a leg injury earlier in the season.
A walkon gets Alaka's spot if he can't go, and that is a HUGE loss up front for us.
It is at Kyle where the Aggies play much better, so I'll go with a 4 point win!
    :)

Oh... and I'm looking forward to the Cougs getting a MASSIVE victory in the Apple cup to cement their spot in the PAC champ game, and at least a glance for the playoff.

Wind, rain, snow for the Apple Cup. Well there's another variable added to the mix.

I think it would be great if Mississippi and Mississippi State started hockey programs.

The same thing that happened to Florida a couple of weeks ago, happened in the game last night. One of the players already had a personal foul called on him earlier in the game so when the officials called a personal foul on the entire team he was ejected because he now had two.

I see that Richt dismissed the teams top WR from the Hurricanes, it's been a tough season for Miami, it was thought to be maybe a breakout year for them then they got beaten by LSU in the opener and since then it's been a disappointment for them. They play Pitt on Sat. They were the team that burst their bubble after they put a beat down on the Irish last year.

Longhorns take care of business in Manhattan KS but it was closer than I thought. 24 - 17. We're in the B12 Championship game.

If Tod McShay knew his ass from a hole in the ground, he'd be an NFL GM.
