I honestly don't understand why the buyout is such a big issue with Miles. He's a very good coach with a proven record. Whoever gets him should be an upgrade if they give him the resources to succeed.
Eh... I'm not nearly as enamored with Les as you guys. He was never that good at OSU, and he had the Cajun mafia recruiting for him at L$U. Kansas is a disaster, and will remain such if they're paying Les. His defenses won't look nearly as good without all those Louisiana studs manning the walls for him.
Scott, I'm not sure I understand how Sherman, Sumlin, Frost, and all of these other unproven guys as good hires but a guy that was very successful in the SEC and a National Championship winner is not??? :?
Les was also successful in the B12 before going to LSU. I just get the feeling that the game has left Les behind. He had great talent at LSU and did have good/great defenses but he really ended up losing his job over his inability to get any sort of decent offense going. While I guess he could change, but at KU he won't have access to the same high level talent that he had at LSU on either side of the ball and of course at his age you have to question whether or not he has the fire to get out there and do the recruiting that he'll need to do to get talent to KU.
Looks like the Tide found their game in the 2nd half Ohio State still battling Maryland Neb/MSU...big offensive explosion... AJ freezing his nuts off!
What did Les prove kp? With mountains of talent he could get to the championship a decade ago and then never evolve to reach that level again? Keep in mind what he inherited at LSU... IMHO Les has nowhere near the innovative abilities to lift a bottom dweller and he sure won't have the talent to do it in the style of his LSU teams. JMHO...
I see Maryland went for 2 and didn't make it. Bet that game kept you on the edge of your seat Don! Next up TUN.
Scott, I'll say it again, maybe Kansas should have hired Sumlin. Your criticism of Miles could apply to most National Championship winners. They all win with a lot of talent. Miles had LSU at a high level, not another NC but he did win the SEC championship in 2011 and he played for the NC again that year. LSU finished in at least the top 20 every year he was at LSU except 2 yrs. Please compare that to Frost, Sumlin, Orgeron, or even Jimbo's resume. IMHO Miles comes out very favorably. Now Kansas is going to be a big challenge, but it would be a challenge for Saban.
On a week where everyone seemingly showed their human side, the Irish destroyed a Syracuse team that led most of the game at Clemson before falling by 4. Maybe we aren't as fringe as people would like to believe.
Corey, wait I think the Syracuse offense is just not very good and their defense is suspect too.
I don't know but when we shut out LSU, you said their offense was terrible, now you shut down Syracuse and it means y'all are for real. What gives?
Certainly some surprises so far today. OSU having to go to OT vs Maryland Iowa just killing Illinois 63-0 and game isn't over. I wonder if Lovie will survive . UCLA is leading USC in the 4th qtr. Missouri over Tenn big right now. I thought for sure the Vols would make it a close game and maybe even win. Indiana staying close to Michigan in the 2nd half Neb beating MSU in a game where no TD's were scored 9-6. It's not a surprise though to me, I think Scott Frost has turned the Huskers.
Well UCLA just beat USC. Boy wonder JT Daniels of USC looked pretty ordinary as a QB. Geezus they just said UCLA only has 57 guys on scholarship...WTF?
