So the fan base in Lincoln and Westwood are being patient and seeing potential.

I know the UF fan base would be hard pressed to show such patience.

Didn't mention Pruitt at Tennessee.... with Auburn, Bama and Kentucky still to come there's a guy that could use a little patience from the fan base.

The Florida fan base would if they had been driven down as far as the others... if not, they'd be doomed to a cycle of mediocrity that they'd never break. And before we go too buck wild over Mullen, there is zero evidence they are the best team in their own state at this point... so slow your roll. Hell, you may be 3rd.

I think Mullen has done a wonderful job righting the ship and getting things headed back in the right direction. He's a grass roots, cut throat recruiter so I imagine you will continue to get talent in G'ville.... not that it was ever truly a problem anyway.

As for Pruitt, I've listened to and watched several interviews with pretty heavy hitters when it comes to UT football and they believe they have the right guy so they are waiting this out a bit.

I'm not annointing UF as a great team by any stretch.... they are still a work in progress.

But like Bill I see tangible evidence of that progress and Saturday's game management vs. LSU and player execution was a good example of the job Mullen is doing.

And I was discussing the patience of the fan bases in re whether or not it is warranted school by school.

The LSU was a nice win. LSU has had a tough schedule so far. The Gators did a great job and got a W at home.

    LSU is an interesting team.

They evidently have a lot of athletes and talent when you see them in person..... and any minute you feel that they might break the game open.

Yet... with their schedule they might be lucky to wind up 9-3.

LSU always has athletes, esp on defense. For a decade or more the same state that produces great RB, Great defensive players, great OL and great WR's can't produce a great QB for LSU. What's with that?

Joe Burrow did not fare well against Florida defense but I am not willing to give up on him at this juncture, he is an intelligent young man and a great competitor. I am not willing to predict they will beat Georgia, but strange things can happen in football.

I do believe that state has produced good QBs, they just didn't go to LSU.

I can't think of any beyond the Booty boys and the Mannings of course.

    Seems odd.

    Terry Bradshaw didn't suck.

Seriously, I remember watching a game while flipping channels this past week and there was a pretty good QB from Louisiana who went elsewhere. They were talking about how he chose to leave the state.

Yeah he couldn't spell suck or cat, but he was good. Still you are going all the way back to the late 60's to find another name. There are bound to be other QB's, who was the QB who played for Baltimore Bert something or another. He was a LSU QB but again we are going way, way back.

Yeah Bert Jones, he was very good. Also how could I have forgotten about the richest QB in LsU history....JaMarcus Russell! :)

I actually looked up the top 10 QB's in LSU history, it's a list of guys I barely remember or don't remember at all. Y.A.Tittle is on it, Bert Jones is on it, and so is JaMarcus. The best qB in LSU history is a guy I don't remember at all, Tommy Hodson, he's from the late 80's.

I was present back in about 1969 or 70 in Florida Field watching Nat Moore and Florida play #8 ranked LSU and Bert Jones to a 3-3 tie in a cold driving rain.

Nat Moore ran a long play all the way down to the LSU 1 yard line before being tackled short of the goal and then UF fumbled the ball the next play....

I remember Hodson. I think he started for 3 yrs and that is why he set all of the records. He was good not great.
