Pretty much any time the Pac12 is brought up because folks in these parts think the P12 is like the SEC with the schools being close together. Pretty much after Cal whipped Ole Miss' ass, no one wanted to bring them up at all.
I find a lot of variation in the response of this site, I don't use Safari, but I haven't noticed any difference between Chrome or FireFox, pretty much never use Edge. This has all come about since the site went down and Ray commented that this software was very old and that they had to do some tweaking to get it to run on his new servers. I don't know what we can do about this. It would be unreasonable it seems to ask Ray to update the software or do whatever needs to be done to get this site to run better. We are here for free. Honestly I don't know why Ray even bothers. At first there was some possibility that this site could evolve to a bigger audience, and generate AD revenue for Ray, but that never happened. So unless we want to pony up the money to pay for improvements ..it is what it is.
I agree Terry and I did not mean to hijack your topic. I can live with the current situation and I am confident the others will do as well.
Ok, once again your circle of friends in Decatur were much different from mine. I cannot remember a conversation where Cal came up. USC, Washington, UCLA, yes, Cal nope!
Well back to Notre Dame Football.. Everybody remembers the Punt Return for a TD vs USC in 2005 by TommyZ..but I'd sort of forgotten this play by him and his DB cohorts. It was a thing of beauty! <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/Ftr4yR-eMgE" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media"></iframe>
Freakin' Pac10 refs have been screwing the Irish for years, since the 1920's was listening on his crystal radio!
I don't post nearly as much as I used to due to the cumbersome nature of the site. Some days I just don't have the time to wait five minutes for a download or to be booted out and start the cycle again. So I get impatient and hit Submit more than once and there my post is three times! OK, we are all having similar issues. And we cannot expect any more out of a service we are glomming on to for free. Do we have a repository of e-mail addresses should this come crashing down without warning? Mine is gkrebs@optonline.net There must be an alternative forum out there that we could subscribe to at a modest price and model after Skybox. I am going to start my own re-con mission and see what else is out there, if anything.
Well we got some recruiting news... 2019 3 star LB Jack Kisner from Indiana gave his verbal. He's getting mixed reviews on the web. He plays in one of the lowest classifications in Indiana and so there is that question as to whether he can make the jump. He's a great athlete and those who watch film say he dominates but is also always the best athlete on the field. But from what I've read the coaches really like him and Clark Lea who is the LB coach/DCoord loves him according to what I read. He does have a solid , but not elite, offer list. 2020 4 Star TE Kevin Bauman the #2 TE in the country also has given his verbal. Now he's a kid everybody is excited to get in the 2020 class. I have read that 2020 QB Drew Pyne is really outside the coaches one of our best recruiters, he's always talking to kids who we want. He's reportedly even helping with 2019 kids. Kevin is a NJ kid, Red Bank Catholic, kind of an odd name for a Catholic school it seems, I wonder if it's near Krebs.
If QNelson went there then that's a good program. I see we got a nice pickup at LB today with 2019 Providence Day (N.C.) linebacker Ositadinma Ekwonuâ€. He's a 4 star and the #7 ILB according to 247 sports. 2019 class is coming together nicely.
RBC got state of the art facilities from Frank Eck. Hope it starts a nice Jersey pipeline like the good old days. Eck was ND grad... https://www3.nd.edu/~ndlaw/alumni/ndlawyer/fall05/eck.pdf
Well Jeff Quinn snared another OL. This time it is Zeke Correll from Ohio. He's an UnderArmour AA and a 4* recruit and the #9 guard prospect in the Nation. Quinn has done a great job so far recruiting, stepping in when Harry left after the bowl game and closing out the 2018 class. We won't know about his on the field coaching till after a few games in Sept. But he's not a rookie OL coach. There is one more possibility out there in Saleem Wormley a OL from DE who we are in a battle with Penn State . If he comes it's the Cherry on top if he doesn't then it's still a great class of OL's.
Red Bank Catholic is about 15 miles north of me, right up the Garden State Parkway. They have a good program but were great when Quinton Nelson and Joe Klecko's son were line mates. They crushed everbody that year. My son played against them in 1997. Had 13 tackles. I had to work that in. 8)
Injuries have taken down David Adams the LB from Pittsburgh, he was a prize recruit. He had injury issues in HS and that unfortunately continued for him at Notre Dame. He was in the class of 2017 and I don't think he played last year as a freshman and was buried pretty deep on the depth chart. He gets a medical exception and will continue at ND on full scholarship. This gets the Irish to 85 scholarships. Good luck to him.
Irish have a big change in the Radio Booth. Both Allen Pinkett and Don Criqui were let go in the change over from IMG to JMI Sports (never heard of them). I did not know that Criqui was 78 y/o. I really liked him in his prime. I don't listen to the Irish on the Radio very often since they are on TV all the time, but I had at times listened to them on the way home from golf for early games. They are not on local radio but I get the Catholic Channel on XM Radio and they have the pregame and the game. I wonder if that will change. From ESPN story: Of course like most of us here, I remember Al Wester and Van Patrick the most as well as Tony Roberts. Back then ND Football was on the air locally, then the TV contract pretty much eliminated it. At one time we had the largest national radio network in college sports.
