Coach Meyer and his assistants have a QB problem! Three excellent QBs' is most unusual. No one seems to be able to separate their talents and be chosen as the starter.

Haskins has the superior arm and is only a sophomore and I think that will be the deciding factor. Joe Burrow is a junior and graduates in May. He can transfer anywhere and be eligible to play immediately with two years of eligibility remaining. Local hometown boy a few miles down the road. It may be difficult for him to walk away.

Tate Martel a redshirt freshman is a Johnny Manzil type QB and a gifted athlete. No one wants to sit on the bench. I am glad I do not have to make the decision.

Nice problem to have. The danger is one transfers, one gets hurt, and then you are down to one. I have the same fear for Alabama.

    Stu,

If you were picking, who would you pick? I think I favour Burrow because he is a dual threat. Haskins may have the better arm, but Meyer favours the dual type QB.

I think everybody would always like for one guy to step up and be the man at QB. But QB depth is also good. I don't think the 2 qb system really works very well in most instances. The year after you guys won the Nat'l Championship Urban had JT coming back from injury and the guy who beat Alabama for the Nat'l Title and tried to play both. While it's not like you didn't win any games, but if I remember things were better when JT finally got the starting job back.

I know in 2016 when Brian Kelly tried to keep both Malik Zaire and Deshone Kizer happy by making it a competition and declaring them co-starters in August. It didn't work and while I know it's tough to tell a kid who'd waited his turn, and beat Texas in his first game then got injured that he was now back to 2nd string, but Kizer had shown on the field that he was worthy of being the starter and should have been named the starter and not told well after a spectacular season that he wasn't the starter.

But back to OSU, the guys on XM radio said that Haskins did so well when he got on the field that they couldn't see how Urban could not name him the starter.

Not an easy decision for Urban and he is probably going to lose at least one player, (Burrow) once he and his coaches make up their minds. I guess that is why they earn the big bucks!

Re Skybox, I can live with a few shortcomings on the software problems we are encountering. At least we have a forum that we all appreciate. thanks to Ray.

Tough choice for sure. I don't pretend to know which would be best. It seems to me that in the old days (think Tressel) the philosophy was you waited your turn patiently, and then were rewarded for that.

Not really about the OSU spring game...

But did you guys see that Comcast was dropping the BTN in states that don't have a Big 10 Team? I assume that meant that if you want it you will have to pay for it, rather than have it included in their regular package.

News to me Terry, but on the other hand it is not surprising either. Big TEN demands a pretty high price for their Network. Sling does not even offer it on their streaming channel because they claim it is too expensive. I assume the old adage is supply and demand.

It was never on my basic package from Comcast (now Xfinity) in Florida...but I got a sports bar across the street that can pick up anything. 8)

To be honest, all of the Big 10 games that I want to see are mostly available on one of the larger cable networks. I don't think I have ever watched a game on the Big Ten network. I don't watch many football games on the SEC network. Now I do occasionally watch other sports on the SEC Networks like baseball, basketball, softball and gymnastics.

I don't even watch the Longhorn Network. I would agree that most games I am interested in seeing from the Big 10 and SEC are always on a regular cable channel and I never get over to the SEC, ACC, or BTN for much of anything.

I have watched some Hockey on the BTN though. I have Directv though so I assume for now I'll continue to have the BTN as an option.

Well Don was spot on, Joe Burrow will be leaving Columbus and Grad Transfer.

Neb and Fla are destinations rumored as both have need at QB and both Mullen and Frost run systems that fit Burrows talents.

I hope Joe does well wherever he decides to go. He is a fine young man and an excellent QB. I certainly can not argue with his decision to leave Ohio State. I just hope he does not end up playing at a Big Ten University and whipping our butts!

Latest word on Joe Burrow is that a decision may be reached by the end of this week. Rumour from a longtime local TV sportscaster is the Cincinnati Bearcats.

Looks like LSU is Burrow's choice. LSU has a monster schedule this coming season. Good Luck Joe, you will have your work cut out for you this fall.
