Augusta is probably the most forgiving when it comes to missing the fairways. First of all there isn't any real rough there's only a "second cut. Second, With a few exceptions there's no shrubbery under the trees on most of the fairways. Supposedly he's changed the shaft in his driver and feels more "comfortable" with it. We'll see.
If Tiger can control his temper and stop and smell the flowers along the way he can win the Masters. He is already playing better than 90% of the Tour.
I watched a lot of the Par 3 contest last night including Tony Finau injuring himself celebrating a hole in one. They followed Nicklaus, Player and Watson a lot and they were really fun to watch and on the par 3's at least those guys still have game. Jack made some great putts and his Grandson made a hole in 1. Weather should be good today and tomorrow with rain forecast for Sat. We're off though!
So if you had Sergio Garcia in your pool...well he put a lot of golf balls in the pool on the 15th..got a nice 13 on the hole. It ties him for the highest score on a single hole in Masters history. He's not likely to make the cut, barring a 55 on Friday!
Yesterday it Jordan who was hot and today he struggled. Today it is Patrick Reed who is on fire and is the leader..
I've been enjoying my fantasy picks. Have 4 teams and 3 have all 6 players making the cut. The only team that lost a player is the one with Sergio. Reed's obviously the favorite but if he falters I see Rory, Stenson and Rose as serious challengers. They come from cool, wet areas and might play well tomorrow. Then again, Jordan may just blow them away. Gonna be a fun weekend sitting in front of the TV and enjoying pizza. Oh and there will be time for a little hockey. Go Irish.
Yeah...a good weekend to stay in and watch sports... Until Monday night when I have tix to the Indians game. Brrrr. My Masters pool pick has 5 of 8 making the cut. But 4 are pretty strong...Speith, Stenson, D. Johnson, and Z. Johnson.
Whoa boy this has been a great day and it's not done. Reed started the day needing to hold off McElroy no way he thought it might be Spieth.
Well Jordan misses an opportunity at 17 and then hits a tree at 18 and is likely done unless Reed falls completely apart
Nice to see our younger American players fighting it out in the end. And it was "Captain America" who won it all.
LOL...my plates would have read something like Chunk or Thn2wn. I did have my first eagle in several years this past weekend and no it wasn't a shot from the fairway. Driver/3wood/15' putt! Thing of beauty, but still just barely broke 90. Iron game has taken the spring off!
