This flu is an arse kicker. I spent Christmas Day in bed and the baby spent Christmas Day in the hospital. Her brother, who is two, spent the next day in the hospital. The whole family has been wiped out by this thing and I'm now in my third week in bed with coughing fits. This sucks.

Time to air the house out and fog that thing with Lysol. Otherwise, everyone is just going to take turns giving it to each other.

I hope you guys get to feeling better soon.

This year, for the first time ever, I went and got my flu shot like a responsible person and then they turned right around to announce that this year's flu shot won't work against the current strain going around. My wife just fell ill last night and the baby isn't feeling great. I am still *knock on wood* avoiding this at all cost because I am already missing too much time at work due to my situation.

Corey, this year's flu shot was developed based upon the information available at the time. It tragically missed the mark. It will only protect against 10% of the possible strains.

    Get well soon O'Connors!

Hoping it skips right over us...
I didn't bother getting the shot since it's so ineffective this year.

    :!:

I still have a cough, but this is now the third day without other symptoms. My newspaper had the following info:

    - 46 states have now been overwhelmed by this flu.

    - The worst hit state is California.

    - The worst hit county is San Bernardino where I live.

    - The state ran out of Tamiflu weeks ago.

    - The California death toll from this epidemic was at 68 two days ago.

Yeah it's been that bad in North Alabama, but for some reason, South Alabama didn't get hit as hard.
