    Coaches!
Today Tim Brewster announced he's joining Jimbo at A&M.
Doubly interesting because I'm pretty sure Tom Herman offered him a job last week.
Here's to many more recruiting victories for the Aggies in the future.

I wonder if we can get Fields away from Georgia???

Actually we got one earlier this week. JUCO kid who never would have looked at us before the coaching change.

Yeah I do believe Herman offered Brewster a job. Back in the day Brewster was Macks go to guy for recruiting both at UNC and Texas.

I read an interesting take on Jimbo. FSU people are excited about Taggert because they feel Jimbo's offense stagnated at FSU because it was so complex. They like Taggert because his offense is high octane and much more simplified for the kids. They feel Jimbos offense had become stale.

Truth is Jimbo's move is probably good for all parties.
I'm not so sure Taggert is all they think he is, but I guess they will find out.

Lord knows we were tired of the spread!
I liked the offense we ran under Sherman.
Jimbo's is similar so I welcome this change.

I see that Alabama has started to make it's move. Given that they have won the last 7 mythical recruiting crowns it was very strange to see them languishing down in the territory occupied by pedistrian Div1 programs. But now they have moved into the top 10 and while they might not catch Ohio State, I'll bet they finish with a great class and get into the top 5 for sure.

Texas having it's best class in a long time with the Herman machine! Sitting at #2 int he 247 composite.

    1. Ohio State
    2. Texas
    3. Miami
    4. Georgia
    5. Penn State
    6. OU
    7. Notre Dame
    8. Auburn
    9. Alabama
    10. Oregon

As far as getting Fields away from UGA, there is a lot of talk that having a true freshman start at UGA this season and doing well might make Fields think twice about UGA. FSU with Taggert is likely going to talk to him and so will Fla with Mullins.

I'm not sure what is going on but Alabama only has 14 commitments. Everyone else has 18 or 19or more but I'm sure Saban has a plan. I just don't know what it is. Also, I don't know how early signing will help or hurt. :)

I don't know Terry, saying that FSU's offense was stagnant due to it's complexity but Jameis Winston thrived under the same offense is insinuating that Winston plays 3 dimensional chess....LOL, I can't buy that one...

I agree that lots of factors played into Jimbo leaving foremost $75 millon having a big sway. Then you add up his marital problems and infidelity with his wife cheating on him, the powers to be demanding he make coaching changes and in spite of Jimbo being one of the better coaches in college sports he is not Bobby Bowden. Bowden was an extrovert who could sell you his dirty socks and make you appreciate the chance at owning them. Jimbo is much more introverted and didn't have the panache like Bobby did...

Nothing against Jimbo, he may be as good or better than Bobby as a coach but he doesn't have that smooth talking used care salesman approach to sway those above him when they meddle in how he ran things. I think he is going to move A&M to new levels as coach.

Per Taggert: I think the jury is still ongoing if he can maintain the level of excellence that FSU boosters demand. He did good at USF, didn't get to see how good he would have been at Oregon and now he is coaching FSU. And the state of Florida is getting a bit crowded with some pretty decent teams, new coaches with some being flamboyant and the expectation to compete for a NC every season...

I am really curious to see what the effects are in the new early signing day. Will it even the playing field and how much of an impact does this make on teams competing for the NC trophy.

I expect the Bama's, Buckeyes and other great recruiting teams to continue their dominance...

Ralph that is a GEM!! Bwahahahaha!!!

I don't think early signing is gonna have a huge effect. The kids that are rock solid on their choice will sign early. Those that aren't or want the free trips will wait.

Hey Terry, have you checked the make up of that #2 class? Looks like you have about 3 guys who are not a DB or WR. Its gonna be real lonely in the trenches in the upcoming years.

Don't worry Scott, Tom Herman has a number of irons still in the fire. We do have 3 OL's committed and a 4th guy (4 star from Salt Lake City) just verballed but he's a Mormon so the mission is on the table. But I won't be surprised if we add 2 more OL's to the group by the time Feb rolls around.

This is going to be a great class for Herman, and it will be balanced.

Willie was a refreshing kind of criminal/athlete. His recruitment was one funny episode after another. But in the end he was what he was, a criminal. Too bad he had some talent.

I see Ohio State strengthened their grip on the #1 recruiting class, with two top 100 players yesterday and reportedly have a few more top 100 kids likely to commit to the Buckeyes. According to ESPN it will be the 1st top ranked class for OSU in 12 years. Rich getting richer! Buckeyes have 3 5 star players and 16 4 star players according to 247 composite. Jim Harbaugh has 0 5 star and 8 4 star players and is ranked #12 right now. Not looking like Meyer is going to let Harbaugh get a leg up on him on the field or in recruiting.

Irish have moved up to #6 and have a key possible recruit announcement today at 11:30, Tommy Tremble the TE from Georgia. Great if he comes, but not a killer if he doesn't.
