>>>>GIANCARLO! Yanks now have 2 / 70 Homer men to lob balls over right field barrier!LOL! ( Can you imagine NY Press is yanks don't win world series next 10 years??!!)
Joel, Stanton is a right-handed batter. I'm sure some of his HRs will be to RF, but most will be to LF. There certainly will be a lot more souvenirs for the fans in the bleachers. I wonder if they will break the combined HR record set by Mantle and Maris in '61. I think it was 61 and 54.
Stanton has a history of injuries. I believe this past year is one of the few he has made it the whole season. Having said that, he is really productive when he plays.
I can see the all time team HR record being threatened. Stanton, Judge and Sanchez should be good for 140-150. Hicks, Gregorius , Bird and Gardner should add another 100. But it will be most fun watching them tear down the handball wall in Fenway. That wall will look like the backdrop of an artillery range. 8)
I read that the Red Sox have submitted a variance application with the Building Dept. of the City of Boston to increase the height of Fenway's famed Green Monster. According to the application, the proposed height extension would make the Monster the second tallest structure in the U.S., second to only One World Trade. Will they stop at nothing?
I have no problem with that...but the plan to mechanize it and adjust the height between innings is a bit much.
