Terry, I don’t think so. I would use the same argument in the case of any other team.

Unless the puppies fall apart in the 2nd half looks like Stanford has locked up the Pac 12 N

Faulk cost himself money coming back, he's been benched, he's thrown a lot of picks. No longer a 1st round pick.

Worst season in the history of Tennessee football. Told a Bama friend of mine (my Jr High QB) that Vandy would win by at least 2 TDs. I was right.

Not really hearing any rumors as to who the Vols are talking to about the HC job, what are you hearing?

I keep hearing rumors from TN fans (and TN fans alone... no one in the know), that they think they have Washington's Chris Peterson all locked up. If that happens, I will be absolutely shocked.

also, sorry to everyone about ghosting on the thread. I was called out by the boss.

Everything is being kept close to the vest. However, crews were told to have Neyland Stadium cleaned up in record time after the Vandy game. (Coaching announcements have typically been made in the stadium) It appears that something has been solidified due to news from the AD office saying an announcement will be coming early in the week (another report states specifically Monday).

Speculation, from more than fans, is it is down to two: Chris Peterson or Lane Kiffin. If it is Kiffin, we will be looking for a new coach after one year. He will either bale again or will be 6 ft under... A lot of back woods Tennessee fans would rather shoot him than have him back. For me, if Kiffin gets the nod, my pick set name says it all.

Now the word is... Greg Schiano

There is a march of people headed to gate 21 and this may be the announcement. If this is the hire, Tennessee will have another AD within 6 months because Currie will be run out of town on a rail.

    Tom,

I have mixed emotions about Greg Schiano. I really do not think he matched up to Luke Fickell, our former defensive coach, but I could be wrong. He has NFL experience as well.

If this is solid, I hope it works out well for all the involved parties.

Tennessee needs a break to get back into the mainstream.

Tom, I hope for your sake that Shiano is a better head coach than I think he is. I just don't see anything in his résumé to indicate it. :?

Lost in all the talk, Purdue beat Indiana and Jeff Brohm in his first year got the Boilermakers to a bowl game. Quite an achievement.

PJ Fleck who went to Minn with much more fanfare than Brohm didn't get Minn to a bowl game. Now it's his 1st year so can't really make any fair evaluations of his program, but still I'd bet Minn fans are a little disappointed.
