Well it's the end of a pretty good season. If we had only been competitive vs Miami it would feel a little different. But I'm glad for all the games we won, and for the improvements in the team all across the board.

I don't know what to expect from the Stanford/ND game. They have had issues most of the year and while they have had an excellent season as well, like ND however they have had some struggles. They have a new QB starting the last few games and they have one of the great RB's in college football in Bryce Love, like our Josh Adams he's a little banged up by this time in the season but I'm sure that he'll be focused and ready to give it his all on Sat night.

The Irish need for the running game to be what it was most of the season. We need for Brandon Wimbush to be consistent in his passing game. He doesn't have to be great and throw for 300yds, but he needs to complete enough passes to keep Stanford from just ignoring his passing and bringing the house on the running game.

Our defense is probably worn down a little bit by the number of plays and time on the field vs Navy. Tired legs. But of course we need them to be good against the run, Stanford under David Shaw has been a downhill run first offense with timely passing mixed into the game plan. They are a physical opponent. Irish will need to match their physical play.

It's a big game for the Irish, win here and we likely finish the season in the top 10 and will go to a New Years 6 bowl game. Lose and we'll finish out of the top 10 and I don't know where we'll go for the bowl game.

    Go Irish.

Irish Men got the win vs Chaminade last night in Maui...tough gig for the team. Thanksgiving in Maui! :)

Irish are going to be adopting some new technology next year in hopes that it will help with concussions.

How about all the ND guys on Skybox chipping in to endow the quarterback coach position. That way, whenever he's mentioned in articles, it will be Tom Rees, the Skybox Notre Dame Guys quarterback coach.
    how about it, guys? :D

Irish Men rolled LSU last night in Maui, and play Wichita State tonight for the Maui Jim Championship. WSU is ranked #6 and the Irish #13.

This is another in my short series of 'F*ck these guys' games.

Stanford is going to stack up to stop the run and play man coverage. What I hope we do is NOT try to attack the perimeter... something we did against both Miami and Georgia. It's a numbers and speed game attack and it won't work. You can HOWEVER, run right at that ******** to make it stop... if you're patient. It also gives you the play action pass because you are showing run, the defense has to honor that in alignment and can't shift to a base nickel or release a LB.

So what I am really saying here is.... run the damn ball upstream!

Their RB is very good and probably should be the Heisman winner if not for the nation's love affair with Baker "I'm gonna do so well in Canada" Mayfield. We have to tackle.

Their QBs can be effective but they both throw like girls trying to hit milk bottles at the carnival.

    Irish by 20.

Great win for the mens team last night coming back from being down 16 in the first half and taking the lead with 2 sec. left. Gotta make the long trim back from Maui just a little easier.

I'll have a ton of spies at this game. They're all flying up there, but they didn't invite me...

They get carried away, you just gotta invite yourself.

OR you can move to the South where all of the big games are within driving distance. I have a literal army of friends with RVs or custom tailgate setups that attach to the back of their pickup and you can see your grandson play. Best of all, you get to root against everyone so you never really have a bad week.

Irish strike 1st 83 yd pass to Stepherson... Who tested the official by taunting from the 25 yd line holding his finger up.

Stanford just loading up to stop the run, if Wimbush can't make them pay with his arm it's going to be a long night.

Slipping away.. Trees up 31 - 20. Difference is the Qb play Costello has made some really great throws and his receivers have made excellent catches.

    Irish folded in November.

That sums it up. Played the first 8 games on an adrenaline high, game 9 (Wake Forest) on half a tank, last 3 the tank was empty. Very disappointing end to what could have been a fun season.

Well when Kelly retires from coaching he could get a job as Shaw's piss boy. Most first year QBs get better as they gain experience....not Wimbush. He lacks accuracy, poise, and intelligence. Other than that, he's the complete package.
