It appears the powers that control the Texas A&M football program are at work again to be complete asses. Yesterday the Houston Comical released a story in which the beat writer said he has it confirmed that Kevin Sumlin will not be retained regardless of the outcome of the team's remaining games. Today... I've been told that we have made a deal with Jimbo Fisher. Connecting the dots, this appears to be a flanking move by a few big money donors who are hell-bent on making a change. They don't want to take a chance on Kevin winning out, and then being "unfireable" at 9-4 when they've already got an agreement with another guy. I love my school and think it stands for many good things, but when a few ego's can completely make us look like classless ass-hats, I really don't know what to say. I hope Sumlin wins that last game Saturday... so we can be the only team to ever fire a coach who won no less than 8 games.
It will certainly be interesting to see what name(s) surface with regards to the job. Fla, Tenn, Texas A&M, Ole Miss...when was the last time that many SEC jobs were open.
That sucks Scott and I'm sorry. Sumlin is a good guy and this is a dirty business. I'd also like to add that if Chip Kelly winds up at Florida State and I ever meet one of those boosters, I'll cold cock his ass and whip him with his ego sized belt buckle.
 If Sumlin is fired, he won't be unemployed long. I'm sure that UCLA would offer him if the Chip Kelly deal falls through...
