LSU is a mystery team to me. They have tons of talent. maybe it's Les Miles. Not going to be many 1 lost teams after this weekend.
"The worst team ever ranked has failed again..." I think at this point we can all speculate all we want. You guys that are not SEC fans can crow all you want... but I have to tell you that I have been to 2 SEC /UF games this year and this conference is for real and Darren McFadden from what I saw today is the REAL DEAL. I predicted LSU would win against Arkansas because I saw some great athletes vs. UF on Oct. 7th even though they lost. That athleticism is what won the game for LSU today. OK...I predict that the SEC will go 6-3 or better in the Bowls. Right now..right here. Go ahead and take shots at that if you want to pay later because I'll take whatever abuse you want to throw at me if I am wrong. Otherwise...you're dead meat.
McFadden did not play vs. SC in the opener! SC 50 Ark 14 ....the biggest misrepresentation in college football this season.....bar none! http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/si_blogs/football/ncaa/2006/11/saturday-observations-friday-edition.html I'll be content in having the last laugh as the SEC wreaks havoc in the bowls. I predict the one team that may win is Wisconsin in the CapOne. Everything else is an SEC probability
Well after watching their QB go 3/17 today I wondered how they scored 14 on SC. And while we're at it how does McFadden's absence explain the 50 that SC hung on the Hogs at home? Since he doesn't play D he must be a hell of a cheerleader.
Arky scored 26 and had 300 plus yards rushing on the nation's top ranked defense. McFadden makes one helluva difference on that team.
Blah...blah...blah... I get it. SEC teams like Arkansas improve as the season goes along, but Pac10 teams like Arizona and Oregon State stay the same. All I know is if the Irish beat SoCal tomorrow, the champion of the SEC will be either Notre Dame or Michigan...
You want to explain why Mcfadden didn't touch the ball the last Arkansas posession? What a Mark Richt like momment by Nutt.
TB, they were out of time and had used all of their time outs getting the ball back. The forward pass was their only hope of getting the ball down the field without running out of time. They couldn't accomplish that.
Well since they lost Bush and Lienhart to graduation and are still in the NC hunt, I'd say they'd have been alright
Hey I have to agree with Tailback, they may have been out of timeouts, but that doesn't mean they had to try 4 long passes downfield. I think a shorter pass over the middle to McFadden and let him run might have served them better. But hey I don't get paid the big $$$$ to coach. I have to give Arkansas credit for turning around their season, and there is no question they could still beat the Gators. However I have never had the feeling that they were as good as some people thought.
I didn't get to see the game. It was told to me that McFadden wasn't used on the last drive. There should've been some effort to get him the ball instead of putting the game in a cold QB's hand to win.
8) re: McFadden I also agree with TB. I watched the game and I don't understand the way that kid is used, especially on the final drive when he wasn't used at all. I don't really understand a lot of things that I've seen Nutt do. His talent seems to be seriously underutilized... re: Where would USC have been without Reggie Bush? Reggie Bush shared the tailback position with LenDale White, who also left early for the NFL after becoming the all-time TD leader in USC history. He was also backed up by Hershel Dennis, who was the original starting TB, but lost his job due to injuries... Both White and Dennis were 1,000+ yard rushers sharing that position at various times with Bush, who was often employed as a wingback or WR with White as the TB... ............JO'Co
Down goes West Virginia to mighty South Florida who's coach was crying after the game. With all of the problems at Miami and FSU, South Florida should help the Gators clean up in recruiting this year. They have a chance to make a big leap...
McFadden wasn't used in the last drive Tailback, Arkansas threw four long passes that really didn't have much chance of connecting. I really don't understand the strategy even though they didn't have timeouts. First downs and spiked balls can stop the clock.
