From a Florida message board: "As it is, this season, we played 7 home games, and 5 away (w/Ga being in Jax). If we were to do a home and home in place of the WCU game, we would be playing 7 home, 5 away one season, and 6 home, 6 away the following season. Compare: Tenn 2006: 8 home, 4 away OSU 2006: 7 home, 5 away Mich 2006: 7 home, 5 away ND 2006: 7 home, 5 away We are the only team that has a non-reciprocal away game every year, meaning we play one more road game than the rest of these teams some seasons with an additional home-and-home (And damn, Tenn sure did have a nice little home schedule this year didn't they?)" Comments? BT?
By my account, it looks like Tennessee played 5 away games and will be playing its 7th home game on Saturday. Home: 09/02 California 09/09 Air force 09/16 Florida 09/23 Marshall 10/21 Alabama 11/04 LSU 11/25 Kentucky Away: 09/30 Memphis 10/07 Georgia 10/28 South Carolina 11/11 Arkansas 11/18 Vandy Now how knowledgeable are these characters on the Gator boards? Aren't these the same guys that you quote here and expect us to believe? Looks like you need to check your "facts" before posting, huh?
I see that while I was researching, you posted that you stand corrected. However, I did the research and am going to publish the findings: Now, as far as that “nice little home schedule this year” comment about Tennessee is concerned… What was meant by that? Let’s take a look at the home schedules of Tennessee vs. Florida: Tennessee 09/02 California 09/09 Air force 09/16 Florida 09/23 Marshall 10/21 Alabama 11/04 LSU 11/25 Kentucky Florida (taken from SEC website) 09/02 Southern Miss 09/09 Central Florida 09/23 Kentucky 09/30 Alabama 10/07 LSU 11/11 South Carolina 11/18 Western Carolina Kentucky, Alabama, and LSU show on both home schedules so let’s strike those three. That leaves: Tennessee 09/02 California PAC 10 8-3 bowl bound 09/09 Air force MtnWest 4-6 bowl still possible with games at UNLV and TCU 09/16 Florida SEC 10-1 bowl bound possibly BCS 09/23 Marshall CUSA 5-6 possibly bowl bound playing Southern Miss on Saturday Florida 09/02 Southern Miss CUSA 7-4 bowl bound 09/09 Central Florida CUSA 3-8 11/11 South Carolina SEC 6-5 bowl bound 11/18 Western Carolina 1-AA Southern 2-9 with zero wins in the 1-AA southern conference Now, to me, it would appear that a Florida fan saying that Tennessee had a “nice little home schedule” would be the pot calling the kettle black. That fan would be breaking a lot of windows in their own glass house.
So, they don't teach Geography at Florida schools?   Knoxville to Memphis is 391.59 miles where Gainsville to Jacksonville is only 71.44 miles. Even Knoxville to Nashville (Vandy) is 179.79 miles. :? All data taken from Delorme Street Atlas USA version 2006 8)
The nice home schedule comment I think was meant to focus on their incorrect posting of Tenn's number of home games not quality.
Give us a link to where this was posted. You realize that if a ref had made a mistake like this one, you would be through the roof calling for his job and the sacrifice of his first born male child! ...unless it helped Florida of course. :?
