If you take Georgia off the pole ( they look pretty good) I'd say that toon is accurate.

Auburn may be good too, but with Tennessee, Ole Miss, LSU all down the SEC is down a lot

And UF isn't where they need to be or used to be... resilient but a long way from elite.

Looks like Georgia's year to go Atlanta where Vegas will have everyone believing the Dawgs have a chance to do it at only an 8 point underdog whereupon the Tide will send them whimpering home by say a 28 point margin or more..

I was listening to ESPNU on XM today and they were talking like they expected Butch Jones to be fired today or tomorrow. I can't see that myself. There really is no real advantage to firing somebody this early.

It worked for UF when they wanted Meyer, most coaches don't really want to talk to a school while that school still has a coach. So it gave UF the cover to talk to Meyer when they fired Zook. LSU did the same with Les Miles hoping to get in on Tom Herman, but it didn't work out for them as Herman played them to get Texas to give him what he wanted.

Now Eddie O that's a guy who if things don't turn fast could be given his walking papers. But somebody said on the radio that they owe Les Miles quite a bit of money and if they fire Eddie O early that they will owe him a lot of money as well and the State of Louisiana is having budget issues and paying 15M or more to coaches not coaching is not going to go over well.

I think his buyout is 12 million. I can't see LSU willing to part with that so soon. Coach O was one of those 'all in' moves because they gave him the buyout. They'll have to ride that out.

I find it funny reading some of the southern football boards. They seem to think that Mike Leach is the next great coach in the SEC... they obviously know nothing about Leach.

Corey, glad to see you are again able to get onto the boards.

It is not just southern fans. There are idiots all over that cause turmoil within their own program because they think the grass is always greener. They know nothing.

Right now, there are several SEC schools making up lists of candidates for head coaching jobs. Every mid-level head coach with a winning record will be considered. What's the name of Troy's head coach?

Pretty interesting story about Mike Leach and the Miami football program is he actually interviewed for the job opening in one of the many times there was an opening.

It seems he walked in wearing shorts and flip flops and shocked Donna "follow the money" Shalala who was President of the University at that time. To say the least he was not considered as it affronted her in so many ways.... :D

I think Leach would be a poor fit for an SEC team. He was a good fit at Texas Tech and is a good fit at Washington State.

Everyone always assumes that if you can do it at a place like Texas Tech or Washington State where you don't routinely get the top rated recruits, what could he do if he had the type of recruits you get a SEC program or at a place like Miami.

An observation on Scotts Ag's. Kellen Mond looked awful vs UCLA was definitely not ready. I watched part of one of his games at IMG academy last year and was unimpressed with him throwing the football.

But he's much improved now, he made his reads quickly and got rid of the ball and of course like all the modern versions of the athletic QB, don't let him get started running because he's faster and stronger than you expect from a QB. The trick these athletic QB's have to master is to be able to punish you not just as another RB, but as an efficient passer. He looked like that in the 4th qtr.

Also I have to note that the week after getting hammered by Notre Dame that Mich State hosted Iowa and beat them.

How good is Penn State? B1G East is sort of like the SEC West used to be. Ohio State, Michigan and now Penn State and maybe Michigan State starting to finds it's legs. Right now Barkley the PSU RB is being conceded the Heisman. It wasn't but a couple of weeks ago that Sam Darnold was conceded the Heisman. I wonder who will really step up and win it. Barkley is this years version of McCaffrey, he's an all purpose back. McCaffrey was supposed to win last year. But was sort of dinged up and never had the season he was supposed to have. Todd Gurley was conceded the Heisman till he really tore up his knee. Long way to go.

Video of Tenn Fans fighting in the stands.... Not quite as good though as the OU lady who was drunk and went after the Alabama fans in the Sugar Bowl a few years ago.

I didn't know about Leach's Key West connection. I was flying out of Key West a few years ago and I thought I saw him in the terminal. He was by himself and I wasn't sure it was him. Now it makes sense it probably was him.

Had to love Leach's post game in the locker room. We should have beaten them worse and we kicked their ass.... That'll never come back on him.

Leach is a character, no doubt about it.
Not sure he's actually a good fit anywhere, just some places can tolerate him better than others.
    :p

Mond is definitely progressing, but I think a redshirt would have made him much better.
    Sadly... no chance of that.
We saw Starkel going through a few drills with the QB's before the game this past weekend. No cast or boot on his leg, but I suspect he's got at least a few more weeks of rehab to get it close to strong enough to play.

I'm SOOOO sad for Coach O at L$U.
    BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!
How can you have that much talent and overcome it??
