8) I have purchased my airline tickets to visit Carson and Corey. Mrs. JO'Co and I will fly out of California on the 12th of October to attend Carson's game on Friday the 13th. We will stay until Sunday the October 22, when we fly back. In between his Friday night games, we will visit his intended college, The University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. http://www.sewaneetigers.com/sports/fball/index Diane and I will be available for all except those three dates, if anyone is interested...
Jim, we all are looking forward to your visit and the profoundly positive impact it will have for Carson and Harlow, not to mention your son and daughter-in-law. I wish I could drive the 5-6 hours down I-65 to join you, but circumstances prevent me from taking the trip. Good luck in your preparations and your travels.
University of the South, what a great choice. I've never been there but I've seen pictures of the campus and it looks absolutely beautiful. Is Carson going to continue playing football in college? I know you'll have a great trip! I'll look forward to the report!
Diane & Jo'Co, Sounds like a great trip and chance to visit with family. I am confident Carson and his parents are looking forward to the trip. Enjoy the Southern Hospitality.
Everyone is so excited for this trip that we really can't put it into words. Interestingly enough, Carson continues to be recruited by other schools despite the events going on this year, but Sewanee is still the school he fell in love with on his trip. I am still trying to get him to keep an open mind toward other schools that are actively pursuing him academically and some athletically. I've even explained that walking onto a bigger program like Memphis would wind up being cheaper than attending Sewanee. At the same time, as his father, I could tell he was smitten the moment he walked on the campus. The Domain at Sewanee is breath taking. Hey, where's KP? JOCO and Mrs JOCO will be here and you guys could meet up if you want.
Ahh that's right! Well, they'll still be here with lots of free time looking for stuff to do if you're interested.
Shoot kp, I drive further than that every week the Aggies have a home game. Get on your horse and go meet the O'Connors. It's been... shoot 16 years since I did (Carson was in a basket!) and I thought they were a hoot. I swear I'm gonna show up at Corey's house one season and see if he wants to go with me to Starkville, or Auburn.
I'm in Decatur. I am always game. With my current employer, I am off on Friday and Saturday, but work on Sundays. Still, I'm always game. There's just no one to go with these days. I will say that Tuscaloosa offers friendlier confines than those other two.
I only left off T-town because I've already been to a game there... I won't be able to meet up with you this season - my travel budget is already spent but next year is wide open.
Ha... actually I AM selling the buggy. But that money is already set aside for the buggy replacement:
