Well the Irish need a big bounce back week vs B.C. B.C. is not very good, but even when they are not very good they seem to be able to make life miserable for us, even in 2015 when we were in the conversation for the playoffs, BC gave us fits forcing turnovers and we just barely got the win.

This year, the team needs a big win, they need the OL to play well, they need Wimbush to start looking like the QB everybody thought he would be and for some WR's not named St. Brown to step up and make some plays.

BC was beaten soundly by Wake Forrest last weekend. So we should be able to get that bounce back win, but then the team has to shake this off and not let the Georgia loss beat them again.

Also if, big if, we are in cruise control in the 4th qtr I think they need to play Book some. Wimbush took a beating vs UGA and if they are going to play that type of offense where he's running the ball a lot and or getting hit a lot then Book needs some game action.

I think we opened as 14 point favorites.

Is it a good sign that the new Miss America will be attending ND Law school?

Also I see that Mike posted on Facebook that he's ok and never lost power!

Also I couldn't help but notice that Joel lists his current occupation as Donut tester at Shore Business Soln's. Krebs when did you take him on, is he just helping out for some extra cash to supplement his retirement? :)

Here's hoping that the Irish bounce back big time against Boston College.

 Actually gentlemen...I'm sick and tired of being served inferior donuts when offered at busineses. I have been working for Krebber,s business for a few years now trying to upgrade his establishment's snack system!

Biggest problems on offense are inexperience at RT and QB. I agree with TOK that we need to get Book in there...

BC just lives for this game. Win and move on. I'd love the style points and the extra PT for the younger guys, but I am also a realist. We're coming off an allegedly emotionally charged game and we're playing a team that has historically hated us far more than we've even cared about them. This damn game is almost always close.

Still, Wake did drill this guys and that's hard to overlook.

Corey is right, this is the big game of the year for BC and for us it's another game.

The team needs to right the ship the next 2 games, starting with BC. While I'd agree job one is to win. But this team really needs more than just a win, they need to play very well and win solidly. I don't mean they have to bury them although I won't mind that, but a solid win where really the game is never in doubt.

As far as I know the Irish are healthy coming out of the game with Georgia.

Kelly's rep is that he cannot win the big games and will play down to the competition in games he should dominate. That is the blueprint for second tier teams.

It is impossible to guess how a Kelly team will look from one week to the next. His teams are like lite beer.

Interesting that early on at ND he blamed losses on having too many of Weis' players and not enough of his own. Now what is his excuse?

The school has done everything they can to build him a palace and a persona.

I would agree, the big wins are few and far between for Kelly.

Most of them are in the 2012 season, when the Sr. leaders where Weis kids, like Manti Te'o. MSU, Mich, Stanford, OU were all big wins.

2010 Beat USC they weren't very good but it's always a big win. That's pretty much it, we did beat a coachless Miami squad in the Sun Bowl

2011 Beat Mich State ...no other big wins

2013 Beat Mich State again, and USC as well as a good Arz State team.

2014 Beat Mich in Hoke last year, Beat Stanford again and LSU in the bowl game

2015 Texas, USC again. ..that USC game was a really big win and so exciting .

As I said not a lot of them, more likely to lose to the big foe than beat them.

But this is 2017 so we'll see what the year brings.

If you are an Irish Illustrated subscriber, I liked Tim O'Malley's take on the Georgia game.

<t>Well one thing for sure, using most of the same players we had in defense last year, Elko had made a huge turnaround in the squad. For what he has I think Elko has really shown us what a good DC can do.</t>

Tim I agree about Elko. I also wonder if there"s been improvement because of the new strength and conditioning coach

I think it's Elko. Our new scheme with the rover back seems to fit our personnel better than I've seen in years...

interesting observation from down here in Dixie. Kelly walked out of a press conference because a reporter was being an ass. Let's be honest here, that reporter was being an ass. I'm not a Kelly fan, but she was trolling him. Kelly was taken to task for it.

At the same time, 2 times in 3 days, Nick Saban absolutely dismantled a reporter in his press conference and the very same media outlets were laughing and applauding it. His 2 most recent rants "Maybe we'll hire your ass" and "Why don't I just call up Coach Bobo and tell him what we're going to run" are being portrayed as signs of a strong coach, where Kelly's was viewed as the tantrum of a guy on the hot seat.

Corey, I think the hiring comment was a light hearted comment with the reporter participating, the other was not. After all, he is our asshole!
