Doing the math here. With all the May birthdays lately, seems that the Labor Day time frame was taken pretty serious back in the day. 8)
Day early, but Happy Birthday Sid!! Krebs will of course eclipse this when he makes his post! I've come to look forward to birthdays just to see what George has in store!
Thanks, Mike and Scott. Scott, you're not late. You're a day early. My birthday is the 31st. Years ago, before Memorial Day was changed from May 30 to the last Monday in May, I used to joke that May 30 was a holiday because it was the eve of my birthday. An early example of my poor sense of humor.
Thank you, Jim. Congrats to your Dodgers on getting to 1st in their division. The Cubs helped them along the way. The Dodgers were kind enough to let the Cubs score some runs in the final game of the series, ironically against the best pitcher in MLB and in my opinion already one of the greatest of all time if he never throws another pitch.
Lots of pressure on me lately. A belated Happy Birthday, Sid. I hope you got some time from drudgery of farm work to celebrate. Now you better get back to the fields!
Late but worth the wait. I'm headed back to the fields as soon as I post this. Thanks, George! Your birthday wishes are very popular.
