This time of the year brings out all those lists. I'm sure we'll see the top 10 College Tailgates, the top 10 college stadiums, the top 10 college cheerleaders, etc.

I'm not so sure though why they left out Bevo!! :)

As usual, the list doesn't even include a single western school; many of which have been playing football since the 19th century. It's like we don't exist.

I did think it was odd that Traveler didn't make it. I could see why the Stanford Tree didn't make it, what are the best traditions of the Pac12? You guys are the victims of the time zones. We here in the Central and Eastern don't really see much Pac12 football.

Terry, I understand the proliferation of lists for everything under the sun. Some of them I think are ridiculous. However, this time of year, they provide something to talk about.

Jim, I'm amazed they play football on the west coast. This is the first I've heard of it.

I don't mind people not knowing the traditions and cool things about West coast football. I use that to judge football fans knowledge of the game.

The great thing about college football is all the different traditions.
No one is better than any of the others.
I don't mind lists, as Sid said it gives us stuff to discuss in the dead time.
But this particular list bugs me because it supposes some are better than others.

They're all great to the fans that revere them.
And fun for the rest of us to find out about, but not to judge.

I always thought west coast football began and ended with "The Longest Yard".

Very well said, Scott. You can apply those comments to every list. Enjoy the knowledge it brings, but take the "rankings" with a huge grain of salt.

Corey, please cite for us examples of west coast traditions to which we uneducated fans are oblivious. Of course, everyone knows about that damn white horse. :D

    Agree with ya Sid!

    PAC Tradition:

Oregon women do not wear jackets to Autzen for games - they would get hot considering how hairy they are!

There's a lot of traditions that aren't even mentioned here. At Arizona, they have the bell from the U.S.S. Arizona at Pearl Harbor:

In Seattle, (Home of Boeing bombers) the Washington Huskies blow air raid sirens that make their stadium easily the loudest in the nation.

There's a lot more to football out here than just USC or Stanford...

    Well, ignoring the Boilermaker Special (which can travel the interstate highways to away games)...I always enjoy our "Shout" tradition (though only in place since 2006);
