I didn't even notice a car in Krebs' picture. 8) Thanks all! Cindy and I are now in Harrison, TN. We ride the bikes through the Smoky Mountains tomorrow and then ride Natches Trace Parkway on the way home 1/2 day Saturday and all day Sunday.
We are now home. The ride through the Mountains was a bit cold and wet. Rain and temps ranging from a high of 60 and a low of 36 (at the peak of the Charohola Skyway). It rained for 8 of the 10 hours of riding on Friday. Had great weather for the ride home on Saturday and Sunday. A little over 2500 total miles for the 10 day round trip. 5421 miles in the saddle since the 1st of April.
I did have one issue during the trip. My 2.25 year old battery gave up the ghost and was in sever need of replacement when we arrived home. I went to Central Texas Harley Davidson and found out the battery I wanted was $29,000. :shock: I drove it home... a new 2017 Harley Street Glide Ultra Limited. My brother and I had been talking while in Tennessee. He said I should check out the new "Honda" Davidson. What he meant was the new Milwaukee 8, 107 CID engine that is as smooth as a V Twin can be and shifts as smooth as a Honda. One test drive and I was hooked. That test drive was 40 miles long, and the sales guy following me on another bike was wondering if I was ever going to return to the dealership. Click on the link below.
