in New Oreleans. They are taking down Robt E. Lee, Gen Beuaregard, and Jefferson Davis as well as a memorial, one commemorates whites who tried to topple a biracial post-Civil War government in New Orleans.

The workers taking them down wear flak jackets and do it at night with Police Snipers on the roof tops to protect them.

If New Orleans is doing this, then there won't be a statue left of anybody associated with the Confederacy. Here in Houston we renamed a bunch of schools who were named after anybody even remotely connected to the the Confederacy and/or slavery. One of them there really was nobody who was even aware that the person had any connections but activists dug some up. Even the parents of the black students at the school weren't in favor of the name change.

I keep wondering when all the statues of Confederate Generals you see when you walk around the old sections of Savannah will be coming down.

My mother attended the venerable Robert E. Lee high school in Jacksonville.

Same as those southern rockers from Jax.... Lynyrd Skynyrd.

I just can't see this happening in Savannah to be honest and if anything like it does happen it will be because of outside influences and not a local uprising. Besides Savannah has as much colonial influence as confederate and had the intelligence to ride out to Sherman to surrender the city who in turn did not burn it to the ground according to one theory.

Someday in the future when more advanced societies are studying the United States of America and postulating as to the reasons for its decline and eventual extinction, near the top of the list will be how the politically correct not only re-wrote history but removed entire references and symbols of the nation's past.

This is the Fall of the Roman Empire, Part II.

At Cal-Berkeley, they've removed all the books in their library and replaced them with empty spaces and conference rooms. Since the students already know everything that's important; all they have to do is sit around and discuss how to change the world to their way of thinking...

    Libraries without books?

    Discussions without new ideas?

    Actions without thoughts?

This sure looks like fascism to me...
