Is this amazing or is it something that just a little bit more than what this type of vehicle does all the time?

This is amazing. The Ford GT is an amazingly quick and fast due to aerodynamics. This car, however, was far from a factory stock GT. The factory rating was 205 mph. That is the same factory rating as the less aerodynamic 2015 Charger Hellcat. (more power... less aero). The GT had a similar engine to that of my GT500, just 0.2L smaller and about 160 hp less.

A little more information on that specific Ford GT...

13:1 compression running 20 pounds of boost qnd running on methanol - there is no gas that would not cause pre-ignition under those conditions.

The clutch is only good for ~3 full throttle launches.

It is stock GT height but the only stock components on the entire car is the frame, the body, and the transaxle.

    Now for all GTs:

The Ford GT in 2005 and 2006 had a MSRP of $133k and in excellent condition is worth over $200k today. It was a remake of the original GT40 that was named the Ferrari killer. The GT40 was designed and built to not only compete with Ferrari, but to clean their clocks.

There is one GT owner in our group. He brought in two more to our every Wednesday dinner last few weeks. Beautiful cars... too bad they were made by Ford.

What is a full throttle launch? Why only 3?

BTW am I correct that most new muscle cars have paddle shifters/automatic transmissions? That there is no longer any advantage other than nostalgia for having a 4 speed, 5 speed, or 6 speed manual?

One of the better surround sound videos to crank up!! (Thank the Lord for Bose soundbars). Had a little fun with my Italian investor who breathes Ferrari as I told him this was the Ferrari killer....Surprisingly I never heard back from him on this....
