It proves that good teachers don't feel well supported in those states and probably opt to go elsewhere where they are more appreciated and the voting majority is more pro-public education and for paying teachers a better wage.

    Ah Dave... Apples and Oranges.

I suppose it didn't occur that those lower salary states also have much lower cost of living?

Hey Dave... Did you know that blue states like California pay 4 times what it costs for the same house in Texas? That must prove all those over-educated folks are real estate morons.

Agreed. Now you can read the same stats and interpretation of them in a number of different sources that all reach the same result. I just took a convenient one that accurately described the findings.
The people that are creating policy for the schools in this country really are driven by a political agenda. As JO'Co mentioned he's no longer supposed to be teaching about George Washington. After all, all he did was spend 8 years of his life away from his home and wife, fighting against the strongest military power on earth with a ragtag bunch of sunshine patriots. He froze his ass off in places like Valley Forge and Morristown. And when it was over he turn down the offer by his grateful countrymen to make him king. With all he gave to this country he's a non entity because he was a slave owner.
Now kids are no longer being taught script. That's fine but how are they supposed to read documents such as the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution? I don't think Jefferson uploaded a copy of the Declaration.
Kids learn more about alternative lifestyles and climate change than the do about our government and how it works. They're distraught that there is such a thing as the Electoral College. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it, schools no longer teach students how to think. Instead they're teaching them what to think. This generation that inhabits today's college campuses is just incredibly immature and naive. They're unprepared for conflict and defeat and they cannot accept views contrary to their own. I blame the certificate of participation, no bullying, non tolerant of opposing views administrators who infest school boards and college administration buildings. Schools should educate students and turn out good citizens. Today's US schools do neither.
