While it's too early to set concrete plans... On October 14th the Aggies will visit Gainesville for our once in 20 year conference game. I plan to be there along with the wife. Anyone else going to be in the neighborhood that weekend?
How are you getting tickets? The Gators don't have a big stadium by A&M standards. I always thought getting one of the 3-5K tickets that is the A&M allotment for away games meant you had to know somebody or be a Big Cigar.
The Swamp seats about 90,000 and tickets for most games have been fairly easy to come by since the days of Tebow and the recession of 2008. I think the best way to order tickets is through the Gator ticket office direct.... not Stub Hub etc.
Terry, The Swamp is the 12th largest stadium in the country. I'm sure they have enough to shoe-horn us in. I do have the option to buy away game tickets and can get at least 4, but since I have to request them by the end of Feb I'm going to wait. Worst case, we'll get them outside the stadium. Gip that's awesome. Thanks very much! Let me talk to the wife. I have a feeling she's going to want a condo on the beach again, but maybe I can get her to think thrifty!
Scott I'll go out on a limb and say count me in if you will have me, you've been associating with that Cornhusker of late and there is no telling what he may have brainwashed you with...I trust ya Scott, but that AJ is bad news believe me....Is Kes gonna come as well? Keep in mind that Hogtown (Gainesville true name) is a pretty good drive from the beach and its nothing like Sanibel.... PS I was supposed to tell you weeks ago that my bride put out the Facebook invite...Yeah I forgot....But Daves been confusing me with left wing propaganda and I didn't text you....Damn you Dave!!!!
LOL Ralph... Hell I'm confusing myself some of the time.... hard to follow all of the alternative facts out there... Scott you should have no trouble getting tickets outside of the stadium but as I say the Uuniversity Athletic ticket office will probably have some to sell you direct at face value.
Ralph, yup, me and mine at this point are a go. Tentative to do a long weekend somewhere within commute of gainesville, then probably another several days in orlando. Still a few months before needing to nail things down and verify fiscal ability, but so far that is the idea.
C'mon Ralph... You aren't invited, your attendance is mandatory! Initially I'm thinking of doing a home base around New Smyrna Beach after flying to Orlando. We'd drive to Gainesville for game day but otherwise hangout around the base. (This assumes the wife insists on a beach view which I expect)
New Smyrna is a fairly short drive from Gainesville as far as beach goes..... I used go surfing in that area and at Crescent Beach a little north of there when I was a student at Florida.
Lol, Stu my son just graduated from UF, believe me this trip to Hogtown will be the cheapest one in four years... But if those rich Texans want to help out a "Po Farmer" who only wants to rub elbows with a Texan I will accept all donations $$
It is an opinion only but I prefer Gainesville over Tallahassee because Gainesville is a University located in a small town where Tallahassee is located in the state capital and the area around the campus of Gainesville is outstanding. Don't misunderstand me G-Ville has 250,000 people in the county but take away the campus and it's a small town. Tally is 281,000 but a State Capitol first... LOL one thing I have found out is in Gainesville if you want breakfast all you have to do is get up early because the majority of the population is not raising out of bed until after 9 o'clock
We are giving up our season tickets this year but hope to attend a few games. This might be a good one to go to.
