Any notion that Trump is self-made couldn't be farther from the truth: http://www.politifact.com/florida/article/2016/mar/07/did-donald-trump-inherit-100-million/ But hey.... like Terry said earlier if he can somehow orchestrate increased wealth and well-being for all Americans then by all means I'm all for it. If the middle class is forgotten.... shoved aside while the ever widening wealth gap of the ultra rich and middle class continues then he is a scumbag who never should have been elected by the Russians.
I realize that for many of you if news articles aren't authored by the "fake news" people then you just want to dismiss it but here is one from what used to be a pretty well accepted news source: http://www.newsweek.com/2016/08/12/donald-trumps-business-failures-election-2016-486091.html
Thank God the middle class has been elevated these last 8 years so we can weather the coming storm...
Dave I said he was an entrepreneur, I never said he didn't inherit money. It's what he did with that money and expanded it as he started businesses is what's impressive. According to his siblings he is the one who excelled and made his inheritance work for him in spite of them getting the exact same thing. Does this come from jealousy or being a closet socialist?? Ive worked for many ultra wealthy people over the years, some from hard work but most from inheritance. Should I despise them because they can do things that I cannot afford to do or should I appreciate the fact that they employ me with their personal income. My goal has always been to improve and expand my economic standing and my families so we can afford the nice things in life. Gotta say that it's not easy but its working and I can pass along financial stability to my son where my father could not do that for me.
Here we go, the new battle cry "Fake News", only approved websites deemed newsworthy are credible. And who are the judges in this evaluation of what is fake and what is not....Well of course its the same left leaning bias slanted organizations that held the mantle. CNN, Newsweek, Politico, NBC, CBS, ABC, the ones who have lost control of leading the free world. And why do tell did they lose this mantle of responsibility, its because they could not give a story without adding their own agenda... But I voted for Trump so I MUST Be a racist, white supremacist, anti-semetic nationalist and if you don't believe me just tune in to the above news organizaions...Or ask Dave...
Ralph what is your opinion of Politifact.org? If not that then in your opinion is there ANY credible news source out there? I know you would not say Fox News. The mantra there for the right is "well if the liberal media can do it so can Fox News." If no one believes on either side that there is any credible news source.... and if people keep believing the "fake news" because it suits them then anarchy and chaos will soon follow. If Trump is a complete failure but the right can only drum up excuses that it is all the Democrat's fault which I believe that they will with the full aid of these above mentioned news sources then we are in for a rough ride. Some people have convinced themselves that nothing out there is truthfully reported.... and that is a huge problem for America going forward. It is as bad as no news.... as bad as complete suppression of news and truth. As bad as Communist Russia used to be.....
Or just listen to Trump himself. Most of what I believe about Trump is based on the words that actually came out of his own mouth.... not about hearsay.... or what someone on ABC News said about him. It's based on words and statements he has made himself with the help of nobody else. And going forward I suspect he is still the same man... still the same character and more of these unpresidential utterances, opinions and remarks are surely coming with the big difference being that he now represents the highest office of the Untited States of America to the rest of the world. Good luck with that.....
Dave I probably lean toward there is no credible news out there segment, sad but true. I lean right from my life experiences but try hard to listen to both sides. This includes NPR on the radio and actively read The Atlantic on a daily basis among others. I also read the Drudge Report, Yahoo News and Breitbart. I usually ignore the national fox news and CNN reports as I am only interested in what the freaking weather is bringing my way and get tired of what Beyonce has done recently or the Kardashians. My goal is to read both avenues of print and decipher what is actually news and what is an agenda and there are plenty on both sides. Fake news my friend is nothing new its what we have been fed for years until the internet cut through the crap and reported what is actually happening. Has it been eye opening, OH YEAH...Has it been kinda sad to realize what we have been fed from our govt, you bet it has...And I mean both sides of the isle. In my humble opinion the new battle is with what is released and what is accepted. Isn't it amazing the elites wether it be the Beltway news, the Vatican news and the EU has come against the release of the devlish Alt-Right news releases. The fact that Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, WikiPedia and Reddit has acknowledged deleting information to the public alarms me. This is the new frontal attack, this is where ideas are formed and like it or not this will not go away, the uncensored raw data will come forth on the internet no matter who decides to censor this or that... I apologize, I have read some Politafact and heard it as the source on many articles and tend to hold them in high standard for truth and honesty....But then again I have done this before and been let down by acknowledgements that it was biased in one direction...I still hold them in high esteem at this point.
Speaking of false news story here's a list of 10 whoppers: http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2016/dec/6/top-10-real-news-stories-turned-out-be-fake/?utm_content=buffer5bf82&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer
Ralph, I appreciate your post. I have found Politifact.org to seemingly have the mission of reporting the truth for both sides without an apparent agenda. With all of the ******** slanted media out there it is refreshing and enlightening to have a source try to sort through all of that ********... either way. I agree the battle is with what is released vs. what is accepted and what started out as being somewhat amusing when news is obviously slanted and stretched or just downright made up has become a crisis situation in America because way too much of it is just plain accepted when it supports an agenda that agrees with a person's viewpoint. Gipper.... here is a description of the Washington Times... and they apparently are not a bastion of neutral and truthful unslanted news: "The Washington Times (AKA The Moonie Times) is Washington, D.C.'s newspaper which perpetually plays second fiddle to the Washington Post. The Times lost money from its inception in 1982 until 2015, in which it finally became profitable.[1] Started by Unification Church founder Sun Myung Moon, the Church has pumped over $1.7 billion into the paper to keep it afloat.[2] Although much of the early Times staff came from the defunct Washington Star, the paper's board of directors was made up of members of the Unification Church, with the staff undergoing occasional purges, resignations, and faction fights over the direction of the paper.[3] No less an authority than the Rev. Moon himself has proclaimed the Times a "gift" to America to thank the U.S. for fighting Communism in Korea, or something like that.[4] In 2002 Rev. Moon outdid himself by proclaiming he established the Times "in response to heaven's direction" and that "The Washington Times will become the instrument in spreading the truth about God to the world."[5] The editorial slant of the Washington Times is notably conservative and partisan in favor of the Republican Party. On occasion, they do some bang-up investigative journalism and muckraking, sometimes on other conservative groups which the Moonies are involved in intramural feuds with. Usually though, the Times is a quaint bore, ever pining for a return to the glory days of the 1850s or 1920s, and Ronald Reagan's befuddled dreams of reactionary radicalism"
You mentioned ABC News, I click abc on sometimes in the morning because they have pretty good looking weather gal for the Tampa market, sad but true as I am driven to admire her wonderful profile as she is telling me I will lose thousands of dollars with the impending weather coming my way. It helps me to survive the news.. :? When I think of ABC National news I think of George Stephanopoulos. Old George wilted during the election and both him and his wife publicly decreed we will move to Canada if Trump wins the election. This is another in a long line of so called famous Americans who quickly cried out we are leaving...Of course none of this ever happened and his buddy Cher who said the same thing both are enjoying the American way. You mentioned hearsay, when has a presidential candidate not said something that we ALL KNOW will never come to fruition. We have heard this our entire lives because hey!! They are politicians and held at a different spectrum than REAL everyday Americans. Trump is at the end of the day and opportunist, this comes from his background in business, he is not a Republican, Democrat, Independent or associated with the media. Can you remember when we have had a president elected who is not beholden to the Republicans, Democrats, Independents or the media?? They ALL came against him, each organization wanted him to lose and did everything to see that happen. Hell they are still working to that goal as you know it.... Yes he represents the highest office of the land, unfortunately the past few presidents have lowered that to a point that is almost embarrassing. This guy paid for most of his journey in the election, he is nominating both Republicans and Democrats on his staff and at the end of the day could probably be classified a moderate to both parties... He is not doing it according to what we have become familiar with. He is doing it his way apart from the establishment and its Oligarchy rule over America. This will result in both sides throwing darts his direction as they lose another tittle of power they feel they deserve... How can you not give him a chance.... Yeah he's wealthy and reminds me of Teddy Roosevelt with a big mouth but he's his own man and not under the umbrella of the elites who feel they rule us and have us jump to their whim....??
Dave once just once I like to see someone on the other side look at the substance of the writing rather than trash the source. Just which of the listed fake stories is in fact true? It's a shame that the Washington Post can't be a great financial success like the New York Times which has become the poster child for blatantly biased "news."
Gipper have you ever wondered who owns controlling interest in the New York Times as they condem the very wealthy?? And just maybe he or she has an agenda??? But I digress please check the sourcing to make sure it's not "fake news" or a white supremacist plot..There's a bunch of racist agitators online these days https://heatst.com/politics/new-york-times-billionaire-carlos-slim/
Hopefully Ralph one day very soon we can all find a common news source that both sides of the aisle can trust and be confident is not pushing an agenda. A slanted rumor mill mob mentaiity based on non-truths and fake news relayed to us by our favorite political shills and attention seeking blowhards will keep us forever severely divided as a nation much to our collective detriment.
You really can't because every tale told comes from an individual's perspective. It's on you, the reader, to check the factual content of the article. Real journalism doesn't sell papers today, Op-Ed rants do.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/trump-cabinet-ironies_us_58519de9e4b092f08686e4b8 The one thing that doesn't lie about people is their publicly known record. If what this article is saying about Trump appointees is true he would be appointing descendants of Madalyn Murray O'Hair as Pope if that office was a Trump cabinet post.
I guess I'll just have to start disagreeing with that Temple of Truth the Huffington Post. Their criticism of Rick Perry ranges from petty (forgot D of E) in a debate to the hypocritical discussion of the disposal of nuclear waste. Apparently they've conveniently forgotten about Yucca Mountain. Here are some facts about Yucca Mountain: http://www.nei.org/News-Media/News/News-Archives/Top-10-Facts-About-Yucca-Mountain It obviously is an acceptable site for our nuclear wast disposal. To insure it was the US government spent billions of dollars in Nevada digging miles of tunnels to test the location and prove it's adaptability. And of course after his state soaked up all the taxpayer money that **** Reid killed funding for the project. Since then nothing has been done to find a suitable site and the government is on the hook for tens of billions to nuclear energy companies because it hasn't made good on it's promises to have a site for disposal. http://www.politico.com/story/2013/11/nuclear-waste-fiasco-100450 Meanwhile the ecofacists running the government have been pissing away tens of billions of dollars on nearly worthless green companies. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/11/failure-barack-obama-blew-150-billion-to-increase-renewable-energy-generation-by-1/ One of my favorite green money pit wastes was a Spanish ******** green company that the US invested in. http://dailycaller.com/2016/03/30/obama-backed-green-energy-company-goes-bankrupt-after-getting-billions-from-taxpayers/ This is the "energy policy" of the current administration. And that Huffington rag has the audacity to criticize Trump's choice. Meanwhile on the sidelines thousands in W. Va., Ky. Pa. and OH are cheering as they hope to get back to work in the coal industry, and industry decimated by the assholes pissing away billions of worthless green energy shitpiles.
Dave I have to say of all publications the Huffington Post does not expound the shining example of unbiased journalism into my mind. I have read so many articles from the post looking for neutrality and been let down every time.... Think business and efficiency with the Trump candidates and that is what you will get, is it anti regulatory you bet it is as that is always good for business. Will any of these make Ralph Nader jump with joy, probably not but old Ralph never ran a business with his funds on the chopping block either... Surround yourself with qualified people and work harder than they do to understand the issues...
