Stu how do Purdue's facilities compare with the other B1G schools? With all the BTN money coming in every year it would seem that there should be money there for top notch facilities but have they used it for that?

My guess is they'll hold off on the stadium part until we start selling tickets again.

Matt Ruhle to Baylor. Pretty shocked at this to tell you the truth. He has no connections to the state, and Baylor for awhile will be a graveyard for coaches till they get clear of the sexual assault scandal. He has very little in the 2016 class as most of them took advantage of the transfer option and never enrolled, and the class of 2017 has very few kids in it.

But somebody posted on a Texas board that Baylor got the coach of the #1 team in the AAC and Texas got the coach of the #6 team. Put that way it seems like a great hire for Baylor.

Didn't he have back to back 10 win seasons at Temple?

Rhule has done a good job at Temple which had been somewhat on the rise since they hired Al Golden, then Steve Addazzio, so Rhule didn't exactly rebuild Temple more like continued the positive direction that Golden set them on.

But on the surface it's a good hire for Baylor and a head scratcher for Rhule. He has no ties to anything west of the Mississippi. And Baylor is still in a bit of a mess.

Oregon has hired Willie Taggert, now that's a good move. Money galore at Oregon and while the program struggled this year for sure, the right guy should be able to reverse that trend.

CBS Sports reported that Rhule turned down an Oregon offer to coach at Baylor.

I would have thought that the opportunity to work at deep pockets Nike U in the Pacific Northwest would be more attractive than working in Waco.

Maybe Baylor promised him Chip and Joanna Gaines (Fixer Upper on HGTV) will do his house for him! :)

There aren't nearly as many Power 5 jobs open this year, only 6 so far and 9 group of 5. Last year combined there were 29 jobs open/filled.

    E. Washington's coach will reportedly be taking the Nevada Reno job. He's had a good run at E.Washington. Oregon kept stealing his Sr. QB's though.

    That probably swayed Mrs. Rhule.

Plus, since the election, I keep reading articles about how the residents of California, Washington, and Oregon want to leave the Union and form new nations. The tax rates in the new nation of The Peoples Democratic Republic of Oregon might be pretty steep so that could have been a factor in his choice.

Coaching at Oregon isn't as easy as you think. They don't have the level of in-state talent that Washington has, and everything is a long plane trip away. You have to get guys who are willing to get away for college. They need California and Texas kids to survive.

Believe it or not, Washington would be a pretty good team just with their instate talent.. if they could keep it all there. Oregon, not so much.

Here's a blast from the past for kp! Just think what might have happened if Rich Rodriquez had taken the job or if according to this article Paul Johnson or Jim Grobe had been hired. Nick Saban was unattainable according to this article. The current Alabama Dynasty would have never happened I'd bet! :)

Ohio State DCoord, Luke Fickell, is reportedly going to be the next Univ of Cincinnati Head Coach.

Like Tom Herman, I'm sure he'll stay with the Buckeyes through the playoffs and work both jobs.

It's also been rumored that Ed Warriner the Ohio State OCoord is the leading candidate for the W.Kentucky job

Lane Kiffin is the leading candidate for the FAU job, not sure why he'd take that job though.

Charlie Strong leading candidate for the USF job, that would be a good move for Charlie.

Not sure who is being considered for the Temple job.

Matt Rhule has named some staff at Baylor, 4 of them from his Temple staff and adding 1 long time Texas HS coach which is probably necessary to get him in with the HS coaches in the state.

The Houston DCoord, Todd Orlando, is expected to follow Tom Herman to Texas now that he's not going to be the Houston HC. Lot of talk about who might be Hermans OCoord at Texas.

We could loose a number of coaches by New Years! If Fickell takes Combs with him to Cincinnati and Warnier goes to Western Kentucky. I would imagine Urban has a replacement list in his hip pocket already?
